I was wondering if all the Download speed tests are accurate and reliable ? Are there any that can be recommended. I'm a Shaw customer and with the original modem I had I wasn't getting anything higher than 2 mps ? Didn't matter which test I ran. Went into a Shaw outlet and exchanged the modem to a new Motorola and voila, I run Shaw's speed test and suddenly I'm downloading a 4 mps. Is that all there is to it ?

Deceiving results

The above test only shows that you are closer to the test server, by 100 miles, you probably pay for the Turbo or xtreme features and you are also quite possibly on a Shaw SOHO package. Your results are good, but not a fair comparison to the other tests submitted.

If the origanl poster traded in a Terayon Modem, for a Motorola, then double or triple the speed is the norm. To get even better, add the Turbo or xtreme packages, and for even faster add the business package.

I've got the regular hi-speed package. When I checked Shaw's site it says that the other 2 faster versions were not available in my area ? I'm in Vancouver ? I could always sign up for their " rocket booster " or whatever it's called.
