I think many sp from Asia appear for 3-6 weeks and then disappear so likely not here on long term visas.

No need to capitalize everything.. it really doesn't get your points across any better if it reads like you're yelling.. just seems like a rant rather than a reasoned discussion. If it's intended to be a rant the please ignore the above.
I'm not any kind of zealot, environmental, NDP, or otherwise, so that point is moot. I'm also not under 50... so again moot.
Having a global economy necessitates cash flow between countries, not seeing your point. immigrants bring money into Canada as much as they send it outside Canada. If you have some source data that contradicts this please provide a link, I'd be interested. Love the reference to Bueller.. but it's a little shortsighted to point out that no one is responding or "crickets" before anyone has a chance to reply.. in your same post even.

Unless you're a native Indian, are you?, I don't want to assume otherwise??... you would be an immigrant.. don't you want others to have the same opportunities that you have, to love our country, work to make it better? I was born in Canada, but my parents immigrated here. I'm Canadian, so are they.. We're a country of immigrants.
Not sure if I qualify as a "boomer" but I'm pretty sure you're generalizing a substantial amount if you think you're the reason why anyone else is living a particular lifestyle that they can't afford. I earned everything that I am "entitled" to.
I agree that economically, politically, societally we / Canada have lots of areas that we could improve,.. but I also think that immigration is a core value of being Canadian.
If you don't agree with that, no problem, I recommend you go into politics and develop policies that will make a difference.
I, personally, am happy being a Canadian, happy to have married my wife, who is an immigrant, and certainly works harder than many of the Canadians that were born here, and happy to welcome others to come live in our wonderful country, have families, work hard, and have good lives.

The problem with immigration is we are deceiving people who are relatively doing better abroad than what they may ever do here. They are made to believe that there's a need and demand for population growth, only to make these people regret the big move. Many sell their homes and give up the stability they had and then they cant do anything here.
miss, yes, the same idiots who claim we need to flood the country with more people also claim we don't need people, cause the robots are going to take over and make jobs redundant, the main false reason for artificially increasing the population

I'm not sure what these people are saying that you claim to hold in such contempt, whether it's about robots or whatever. What I believe is that a Country, any Country's greatest asset is their people. Hard working, honest, hopeful people building a life for themselves - contributing to our society and living their best life. If more people want to come to Canada and strive to make things better.. I'm all for it.

Does the world have problems.. absolutely.. "we would have culled it by now".. Ok Thanos. What a nasty solution. Others have tried "culling" and are rightly reviled for it.
I have faith that although humanity is greedy and short sighted and egotistical, we are also brilliant and generous and hopeful.

Canada's population increased from about 36M to over 41M today under the federal liberal immigration policy. Some blogs etc (unsubstantiated) indicate that 5M increase is higher. We see the result in the health care issues and general housing problems as our infrastructure was not ready to accept that kind of uptick. A majority of these new immigrants have come into the service sector, not a lot in higher paying jobs, so the 'taxes' these people pay are minimal. But they burden our systems disproportionally. Arguments can be made on a full range of topics about the benefits and pitfalls of the recent immigration but in my opinion, todays immigration is NOTHING like the immigration policies we had in the past and it has been a failure.
Onto the politics of this, I see it as a populist move by those of the Sunny Ways, some kind of national wokeness statement. And ooo eee has it not worked. Tough to fix as this now allows all the various family members a ticket in.
