Rattled my feathers...my heart feathers.

I was doing an online search to see if any Roots 2010 merchandise is yet available (apparently, not--someone let me know if they are aware of a source) when I ran across this. It is very long, but will likely rattle a few feathers here:

Indeed, that was an interesting read. It's regarding the Olympics, and the increase of human trafficking in regards to the sex trade. Apparently, our police/bureaucracy turns a blind eye? Sounds like capitalism at it's finest.

"According to one study, over 50 % of women involved in street prostitution in Vancouver are Native, although Natives comprise only some 7 per cent of the urban population. Most of these had a history of sexual abuse as children, and over 90 % reported being physically assaulted during their time as sex trade workers. 86 % reported current or past homelessness, with housing as one of their most urgent needs. 86 % also expressed a need for treatment for drug or alcohol addictions."

"The DTES, where a large amount of street prostitution occurs, also has the highest rates of HIV infection in N. America."

Another reason to wrap it up, folks.

Roots lost the contract for producing Canadian Olympic wear to the Hudson's Bay Company.
