What bullshit.

The confederate flag is a symbol of a separatist movement. The fact it flew as long as it did before enough people protested should be what he insults - not the movement to bring it down, which should be celebrated.

And Cecil the Lion - sorry, bud, but when people heard about it they didn't have to be told it was wrong, stupid, illegal and wasteful. People were rightfully outraged, the media didn't tell them to be, because we know trophy hunting is all about some dickless wonder's ego, not about bravery, man's hunting instincts or even conservation. Cecil alive would earn more for Zimbabwe than that paltry execution fee that dentist paid.

Yeah bullshit.

(a) some of us have always known what that flag symbolizes,

(b) the most recent fury over the flag was fallout from the racist asshole who wanted to start a race war by shooting up a church in June while glorifying the flag and other racist symbols and people finally said "enough is enough" (which I thought was pretty poetic justice given the shooter's goals), and

(c) the swastika was a traditional Indian symbol long before the Nazis appropriated it, but good luck using tradition as a defence there if you are stupid enough to wear it.

I think the point was that this was going on long before the tragic events brought them to the forefront. How it should not have taken such horrific events to trigger such a overwhelming public uproar. It should have happened sooner.
