Big thumbs up for this documentary...great commentary, cinematography and characters ending with a michael moorish moment with the lead gov't prosecutor saying something about getting the terrorists so that they can go after the real problem...the prostitutes and whore mongers.
According to Erica Jong in the movie, the participants in 70's porn did it for rebellion (she later scoffs at the current industry for less than lofty motives...whatever we can't all be perfect) however Derek, take heart in carrying the torch of those early trailblazers and continuing to push the buttons of the establishment.
I don't wanna end up like Linda Lovelace (boreman was her actual name, curiously) but the rest of those participants in 70's porn culture sure seem like a whole lot more fun to hang with than Larry Parish.
The funny thing is this movie will probably be seen by very few Americans as the NC-17 rating in the US is the kiss of death for any movie. None of the major cinema companies will touch it (not in their family oriented theatres, thank you). So it is to the indy & art theatres with it, and few in the US go to “those” sort of theatres.
The sad thing is it will never be shown in my city as the “Community Standards” part of the obscenity laws would expose the theatre owners to prosecution even with the NC-17 rating.
The nearest theatre showing it is over 700 km away!
So our strategy is working.
Now if you could just take those Hollywood lefties who promised to leave if we re-elected W and have gone back on their promise.

Immigrating to Canada is not as easy as it sounds. I think you need to broaden your strategy and start to persecute us bluish folk. You know, stop marandizing us, ignore our writs of habeas corpus, illegal search & seizure, maybe a little torture in the name of questioning, etc. We will be able to claim political persecution and maybe Canada will let us in then.
Just curious. Are there places (anywhere in the world) where the inhabitants are not uptight?
On a not-quite-so similar note, are there places on this planet not belonging to any country (besides Antarctica)? Do people must be citizens of at least one country?
if canadians seem uptight it is only because we have 300 million sex deprived americans breathing down our necks while they decide which country to invade next as a surrogate fornication of foreign policy!

LG - I have long been of the opinion that Canadians were capable of thinking for themselves. You are starting to convince me that at least some Canadians are not capable of independent thought and must look south of the border for guidance, even to know when to be uptight.
