Anyone notice how much smaller some if the ice cream treats have gotten in the past week. Down to 90ml from 125ml yet the price has remained the same.
Reason enough for me to give them up. I'm sure some will still buy but thats a huge percentage reduction in size.

F#*k them and their fudge sticks.

Its a good idea for them to increase prices by decreasing size for stuff like this.
Kids buy it, they don't notice if its smaller, they sure do if it cost more.

I remember as a boy buying hockey/baseball cards. They were 25 cents a pack and had maybe 10 cards.
One year they raised the price to 35 cents. I was around 7-8, this was a huge deal, now a dollar could only buy 2 packs instead of 4!
Sounds silly, but it was a big deal for me and my friends, hockey cards were a big deal.

If they just reduced the number of cards per pack, and kept the 25 cents, we'd never have noticed.
Of course by the time I was a teenager a pack of cards was like $3 and you got 4 cards, completely ruining the hobby for children everywhere.

Then we finally found an Alex Jones worthy website that had noted that the press release denying the difference is size (70's vs. 2000's) was from an rather small and previously obscure Australian branch website/office for whoever made Wagon Wheels.
It also happened to have some pictures of 70's Wagon wheels boxes from both the U.S and Australia and we were both surprised to see that the Ozzie wheels were the same size today as they were back then, about 80% of the size of those sold in the U.S. and Canada in the 70's!

Sometimes, the tinfoil hats get it right.
This latest money grab is so recent that the evidence is still in the cooler. Old size is sitting right there along side the newer slimmed down version. They're so greedy they weren't willing to discard the larger ones just to cover their asses. Had I not seen it I wouldn't of believed they decreased the size by so much.

I rarely go to McDonald's but, one day last year, I decided to have an old-home-week and stop by for an old favourite, the McChicken. I was shocked at how little they are now. This picture isn't a true representation of the McChicken but it gets the point across (small today, compared with yesteryear). It used to be a good-sized burger, but now it's just a little snack. I doubt the price has gone down any...

well, the prices at mondo gelato on robson have (shockingly) gone down by about 50 cents since last year for two scoops. I was actually at a loss for words over the matter upon discovering it

2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. Remember that promotion when if you sang it to the person behind the till, you got a free big mac? I used to know it backwards too.
Special sauce?

Maybe that's McDonald's way of introducing portion control?

The most strict corporate restaurant chain for portion control that I know of is Earls.Every single item on the menu is STRICTLY scale weighed to conform to a food cost ratio.Every franchise employs a person to specifically do this. That is the job and it must be a mundane boring job making sure nobody gets 1 extra shrimp in their stir fry.

As for down sizing of products that has been happening for a long long time.I can remember when an O'Henry chocolate bar was considered a big chocolate bar....not any more. The same thing goes for a veritable shitload of things ranging from fast food to confectionary to salad dressing. That is why I shop at Costco, yeah that gigantic tub of very fine quality deluxe mixed nuts(with macadamia nuts) will seem like one of the 12 tasks of Hercules to consume it is worth it.The only thing you dont buy at Costco is that massive jug of maple syrup because if you dont religeously eat pancakes at least 3 days a week you will be leaving that jug of maple syrup to someone in your will LOL....same goes for the large container of soy sauce.
