I am going to shill for this place because I like Indian cuisine and had a fine dinner there. It is called Simply Curries located across from London Drugs on Kingsway in Vancouver. Got to choose a meat and vegetable curry and they served with rice/salad and bread for $6. Some of the freshest and tastiest food I have tried and the owner Vishy told me he makes all the sauces fresh and the only ingredient he buys is the bread. Would highly recommend to anyone on a tight budget with a hungry belly who appreciates Indian Cuisine.

Do they have those awesome corny videos of EI chicks dancing there? That's part of the reason I go. EI chicks are some of the most beautiful!

Never tried that one Daddy do you know if it's any good? Also, forgot to mention in my earlier post that you can also buy the sauces. Tonight, I'm making my own butter chicken with the sauce I bought there. For $3 you have enough sauce to make about 2 meat dishes. The sauce is the same fresh stuff that is served in the restaurant entrees. Bon appetit everybody!

Vig's

Drove by Vig's when I was in town and saw that the lineup was about 2 hrs. I also noticed that 75% of the people inside were white. What is attraction about this place, is the food really good, or do you pay for the service?

Like all higher end restaurants, I guess you pay for the ambience and supposedly higher quality food. The reason I say supposedly is often times you get the same as you would at a lower end restaurant but pay considerably more. Vishy @ Simply curries told me he supplies Samosas and other ingredients to the top-rated Four Seasons Hotel restaurant so that says something.

I agree with Jack in the earlier post, why pay so much for Indian food? The ingredients don't change that much and you can get really good quality for a low price. Sure it may not have the high end ambience but does that really matter?
