Incurable gonorrhea making me reconsider BBBJ...anyone else?

While I, like many pooners, vastly prefer BBBJ to CBJ, this recent trend of antibiotic resistant gonorrhea is causing me to serioulsy reconsider...at least with HIV, the infection rate is actually very low (both from vaginal and oral), but gonorrhea is very very catchy...and having burning piss and yucky 'discharge' (what a euphamism that is) is not my idea of a good time...throw in the fact that gonorrhea is most common in young women (my fav category of women), and I'm seriously reconsidering the BBBJ.

I'm curious if anyone else if thinking along these lines; also if any SPs have reconsidered givine BBBJs because of it...

And for the record, I'm not a 'nervous nellie' and prone to extreme fear or any such thing...I've done my share of 'risky' things, but this is preying on my mind.

BTW, the clap is also transferable via condom sex, since rubbers often fail.
Probably one of your stupidest rationalizations so far. So because condoms sometimes (rarely) break during cfs, you should do bbfs and bbbjs, and thus eliminate all doubt about what risks you expose yourself to? Instead of a small chance if the condom fails, you prefer a sure thing by not using one altogether.

How'd that chlamydia work out for ya? Pass it along to anyone else during treatment, and before you were tested, or did you do the responsible thing and abstain until the end of the treatment time.

Don`t be silly, PT. That statement was grade school Sex Ed 101 kind of stuff.

You seem to be off your game today, girl, cause that`s one of the dumbest arguments i`ve ever
heard. Are you sure you`re in the right career? I`d suggest submitting your stuff to writers of
comedies starring Steve Martin. But if you want to review something on the subject that
actually makes sense, including high condom failure stats, and has been left unchallenged:

Once again i will point out that CFS is far more dangerous than BBBJs. Ever heard of HIV? Hello?
So instead of the OP asking SP`s if they are reconsidering offering the latter, it would have made
more sense to ask them if any intend to cease practicing the former. While that would have made
more sense, safety wise, since it is way safer to offer BBBJs instead of CFS, it won`t happen
because it would make less cents. Obviously money, not safety, is the bottom line for SPs. Being
a hooker is a very high risk profession.

I`ve been abstinent for over 40 days, since a few days before the time i had any symptoms of
that minor itch. But thanks for asking ;

"Condom wrappers recommend storing the product at temperatures between 59 and 88 degrees Fahrenheit. One researcher found that, at major condom distribution points in New Jersey and New York, boxes of condoms were left outdoors in the ice and snow during the dead of winter. During the summer months, the researcher took photographs of eggs frying on the floors of dozens of trucks and containers where condoms were stored in temperatures exceeding 180 degrees.[5] High temperatures cause oxidation and freezing temperatures cause crystallization in some of the chemical compounds that make up condoms, leading to cracking, drying, shrinking and drastic loss of flexibility and strength. Keep in mind that condoms exported from the United States sit in uninsulated shipping containers in extreme weather conditions for even longer periods of time;..."

It seems that the opinion of this article is that:

1] gonorrhea is still curable

2] there is, as of now, no such thing as "incurable gonorrhea"

3] the disease is becoming more resistant to the "usual treatment"

4] there are "two more powerful antibiotics available" besides the "usual treatment" for
treating this disease

"Dr David Livermore, director of the antibiotic resistance monitoring laboratory at the Health Protection Agency, said that the cephalosporin antibiotics used in the UK are still effective for treating gonorrhoea.

" "But our lab tests show that the bacteria are becoming less sensitive to these cephalosporins, with a few treatment failures reported. This means that we are having to change the type of cephalosporin that is used and to increase the dosage.

" "The worry is that we will see gonorrhoea becoming a much more difficult-to-treat infection... over the next five years."

Funny but true. I wish that little voice that originates from down there wasn't so persuasive. Why does mother nature always have to take the fun out of everything?

Personally I have never caught the "clap" nor clamydia or anything that required drugs to cure....I did catch "moluscum" and that was taken care of with some liquid nitrogen spray.....and to be honest the liquid nitrogen spray was a hell of a lot better than getting swabbed LOL

I have seen close to or even more than 100 asian gals at Sugarland and have had no STI's....the moluscum infection I did get...well I chalk that up to a towel used by another pooner as I never saw any symptoms on the gals I saw.....and they are obvious.

I will continue to enjoy BBBJ's with no worry.

So this isn't about Gonorrhea, but I got 2 bbbj's within the last few weeks. I won't say from who as this has yet to be diagnosed by a doctor and I really can't prove who it came from but......

I may have a yeast infection on my penis.

It seems that someone with Thrush giving a bbbj can give a man a yeast infection.

From: http://www.yeastinfectionadvisor.com/penisyeastinfection.html

"Men can get a penis yeast infection from sex with a woman that has a vaginal yeast infection. From oral sex from a person with thrush, or from anal sex with an infected individual."

Yes only one source cited but I have read this elsewhere.

Even (edit: IF ) I don't have a yeast infection, this is an eye opener; absolutely no more bbbj's for me.

C1

I'm just curious... Can you explain how you've determined that someone "gave" you a yeast infection and that you simply have not just developed it on your own?

In Men

Men also get yeast infections caused by:

Condoms with nonoxynol-9 added to the lubricant which may contribute to anal yeast infection
Direct contact
Unprotected sex

and can also be caused from:

Diabetes (men with diabetes are more susceptible to yeast infections due to elevated sugar in the urine)
Prolonged antibiotic use

http://www.herpes-coldsores.com/std/yeast_infection.htm

Whenever we 'catch' something, we often want to know who gave it to us. Why did I get a penile yeast infection? Well, there are many things that may have caused this type of male yeast infection.

Like any yeast infection, a penis yeast infection is an overgrowth of the Candida Albicans yeast. This overgrowth may occur because of two reasons.

Your digestive system may be the cause of your penis yeast infection. It is very common for Candida Albicans yeast to overgrow in your gut - your digestive tract. Once it is in your system, you may develop a variety of symptoms - such as a penis yeast infection.

You may also develop just a localized yeast infection - in other words, a yeast infection all in one spot - such as a penile yeast infection. Candida lives on your skin in a healthy, normal amount, but certain factors can cause it to takeover.

The causes of any male yeast infection are the same as a female yeast infection.

You have an overgrowth of yeast in or on your body which can be caused by any of the following:

a weakened immune system from prolonged illness or stress
an infection from a sexual partner
taken antibiotics - taking antibiotics can kill the bad AND good bacteria in your gut and system allowing Candida Albicans yeast to take over
an unbalanced, or unhealthy diet - high sugar, alcohol, or carbohydrates
diabetes

http://www.yeast-infection-answers.com/penis-yeast-infection.html

I love how some of you guys just blame anything on those dirty sp's the minute you develop just about anything new.

It is helpful to learn what the causes of Candida are. Maybe you are your own worst enemy and you are contributing to your health issues.

Maybe your environment and food's toxic nature is hurting you? Candida and systemic yeast infections occur when your immune system can no longer keep control of this yeast. The Candida Albicans yeast changes from a single celled organism to a thread like form that can penetrate your gut wall.

cookies as causes of candida Does yeast overgrowth cause a weakened immune system? Yes, it does. Does a weakened immune system cause yeast to grow out of control? Yes, it does. As you read over the causes of Candida, remember that not one thing can cause systemic yeast infections and Candida - it is usually a combination of factors. Often, one cause directly links to another cause.

Read below to see a list of causes of Candida:

1. Antibiotic or steroid use:
The infection - antibiotics - re-infection cycle can begin at birth or in early infancy when antibiotics are used to treat various infections. Often people use antibiotics for acne, ear infections or bronchitis. Antibiotics kill good and bad bacteria. When the good bacteria gets wiped out, it changes the natural balance of organisms in your colon and digestive tract. This allows the Candida Albicans yeast to grow freely. Steroids hinder the body's natural immune system. Even topical cortisone creams can be absorbed into the blood stream and be a contributor to the causes of Candida.

2. Birth Control Pill:
The birth control pill is a powerful pill. Since it was first developed, the estrogen content of the pill has been dramatically reduced - up to 50 percent. As most women know who are on the pill, there are risks and potential side effects particularly if you are over 35 or smoke. Birth control pills increase the amount of sugar in your blood, the amount of insulin and growth hormone. Birth control pills are considered similar to a steroid and have hormonal impacts. They change the environment of the vagina like pregnancy does. The vagina can become less acidic and store increased amounts of sugar in the vaginal walls. Extended birth control pill use is just one more of the possible causes of Candida. Menopause is also a hormonal time that makes women more prone to yeast changes.

3. Poor Nutrition:
Many feel Candida overgrowth is reaching epidemic proportions due to the large of amounts of sugar and refined carbohydrates in our diet. Do you have a sweet tooth? Do you crave chocolates, carbohydrates and breads? An unbalanced diet with an over-reliance on simple, refined carbohydrates, starchy foods, sugars, dairy - can feed yeast overgrowth. Simple refined carbohydrates examples are candies, chocolate, cakes, cookies, chips, soft drinks, white bread, donuts. Poor quality food or food contaminated with fungus and mycotoxins is also a cause. High mycotoxin food are corn, peanuts, cashews and dried coconut. Many grains are also contaminated. A poor diet causes vitamin, mineral deficiencies, as well, which weakens your immunity and your health.

4. Stress and Other Causes of Candida:
Stress, fatigue (chronic fatigue syndrome) and unhealthy lifestyle from lack of sleep, overwork, poor diet, no exercise etc. affects our overall health and immune system making us more susceptible to Candida. Are you a doer, giver, overachiever or workaholic? Type A personalities who spread themselves too thin are often sufferers too.

5. Antacids and Anti-Ulcer Medications:
These medicines can all contribute to upsetting the digestive tract.

6. Diabetes:
Diabetes, abnormal glucose tolerance or insulin resistance can make you more susceptible to yeast.

7. Neglected, Untreated Local Yeast Infections:
Vaginal, on the skin, or oral thrush - can contribute to Candida issues. Chronic yeast infections are when you experience a vaginal yeast infection 4 or more times a year. Often a chronic yeast infection is a symptom of a larger problem - such as a systemic yeast infection caused by Candida.

8. Viral Infections:
i.e. mononucleosis or the more serious - AIDS, cancer, chronic medical conditions all are immunity disorders.

9. Anemia:
Did you know that the more active your white blood cells are, the less parasites and toxins in your blood? Anemia is when you have decreased white blood cells. A compromised or weakened immune system can't keep Candida under control. Low levels of thyroid hormones - thyroid disease are also possible culprits.

10. Digestive Problems:
Digestive problems are both a cause and a symptom of Candida. When the intestinal environment is high in sugar, acid or toxins, there is a loss of friendly bacteria. This damages the intestinal membranes and gut flora. Digestive problems such as poor digestion and absorption affect your health and ability to fight infection. Also, if you lack or don't have enough hydrochloric acid production by your stomach - you may be predisposed to Candida troubles. Often allergies to wheat, milk or dairy inhibit hydrochloric acid production.

11. Food sensitivities, Intolerances and Allergies:
These can irritate and sensitize your digestive tract to be any toxins and bacteria.

12. Exposure to Harmful Chemicals and Toxins:
Exposure to petro-chemicals, formaldehyde, tobacco smoke (contains yeast and often have sugar added too), perfume, insecticides and weed killers can cause yeast overgrowth. Toxic chemicals in our food can also make you become highly sensitized and have allergic reactions to foods and chemicals.

13. Immunosuppressive drugs such as chemotherapy.

14. Mercury fillings:
The black dental type filling have been linked as immune suppressing factor. Silver mercury dental fillings have been linked to fungal infections.

As you now know, one cookie won't necessarily hurt you. But, be aware that what you eat can affect your overall health. Think carefully about the various causes of Candida and how they may apply to you. It is surprising how our health is so interconnected with what we do and how we live.

While I understand the concern and I'm not telling anyone not to be safe, I find the thread sort of misses the point. As Lenny summarized, gonorrhea is not "incurable" and resistance to antibiotics does not mean a bacteria is resistant to all of them....yet. The meat you eat has bacteria resistant to numerous antibiotics, does this concern anyone? Bacterias that cause diseases such a TB and typhoid fever are also now becoming resistant to many of the antibiotics that have been used in the past... doesn't this concern as much as the gonorrhea causing bacteria's resistance? I don't know about you but I find it all pretty disturbing.

Gonorrhea and other infections are still treatable and curable, the question is for how long? So the issue isn't so much about BBBJ but about how to deal with all these bacteria mutations that are causing resistance. I'm sure we can all agree none of us want to be infected with incurable TB or pneumonia, which can quickly become fatal when untreated - any more than we want to be infected with incurable gonorrhea. Yes, it's good to be able to avoid gonorrhea infection with a condom, but how are you going to avoid TB or pnenomonia infection which you can catch by simply breathing?

I think this thread is missing the point of how serious antibiotic resistance is in general, not just in regards to gonorrhea. The title is also pretty misleading... it's not incurable!

It seems that the opinion of this article is that:

I'm not sure of the relevance of a comparison of something one can catch by breathing (not breathing not being an option or 'choice') and something one can catch by give/recieve bbbjs (not giving or receiving bbbjs will not kill you)

By all means, downplay and discount any risks whatsoever, but lets remember its not fooling anyone to pretend there aren't more risks to doing something like a bbbj than to not doing it and just doing cbj. Its fine if someone wants to do it or get it, but lets not try to justify it as being safe or as safe as not doing it.

I'm not sure whether that comment was for me..?
But Who's downplaying?

The thread wasn't strictly about concerns regarding gonorrhea & bbbj's, it was more specifically about the supposedly new concern that gonorrhea is "incurable".

There's a big difference between "incurable" and resistant to drugs - or more precisely, some strains of the bacteria which cause gonorrhea have now shown to be resistant to some drugs.

Considering the title and tone is misleading, in that it inaccurately claims gonorrhea is now "incurable", I don't think it downplays (or even concerns) any risks of bbbj.

Are we supposed to start hyperventilating and just go along with the statement that gonorrhea is "incurable" even though that's not actually what's going on? Just pretend because it sounds scarier?

I specifically made the point that I wasn't encouraging anyone to be unsafe, I was just telling you all that we have a lot more to worry about beyond (not instead of but rather in addition to...) gonorrhea.

I don't think inaccurate information and lack of real understanding helps anyone, even if it makes them more scared. People can do what they want, we've had this discussion about 199 times.. I personally have nothing to add about that specific topic and no interest in repeating the same comments from past discussions. However I did have other comments about the drug resistance issue, which is what my comments were about.

And choosing not to buy or eat meat that's been fed antibiotics to grow faster and ends up loaded with 4 or 5 different drug resistant bug isn't going to kill anyone either - but it might just leave a couple of drugs that still work for infants, elderly or other people when they get whacked by one superbug or another and there's no drug left to help them.

I don't feel that pointing this out is downplaying anything about the risks of bbbj's and gonorrhea.

How was Vegas.

Yes this thread is misleading to say the least.
Many many diseases and medical conditions are becoming resistant to some treatment.

Caused by everything from using antibiotics too often in children....to people not using them long enough to completely fix their problem.
Ie TB patient takes it till symptoms are gone, not the full duration of treatment recommended.

So gonerrhea treatment has the same problem. Big deal.
Medicine will evolve, if it does not, gonerrhea will be the least of our problems if other diseases become even more drug resistant.

People on perb will argue bbbj's are fine, some think they are dangerous.
The fact that many diseases are becoming resistant to current treatment is moot
