I personally don't care for downtown due to traffic and parking. I vote for Airport/Polo Park. There are now some nice hotels in the area.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Downtown/South end due to convenience and it is easier to explain my presence than it is if someone spots my car in the parking lot at an airport hotel.

Maybe we need burner cars too lol
I used to have a pooning vehicle until it died a couple of years ago.
A 1989 Chevy Silverado. I bought it in '99 to use for work and as a vehicle to haul stuff in. Not like these guys who buy a truck but then don't put anything in the back because heavens forbid, the bed or the liner get scratched. LOL!
It was blue, some rust and very non-descript. The type of vehicle you could walk past three times a day for a month but not remember even seeing. Looked like 1000 other trucks out there.
Perfect for blending in to any neighbourhood or parking lot whether I was visiting EB/TO, Nevada or an Indy.

Now I do have to be more careful. My 2 vehicles are more noticeable and one has personalized plates (I never use this one).
If I was pooning more I would likely re-invest in another beaten up old truck.

Cheers

The score so far!

3 - Airport/ Polo Park
1.5 - Downtown
0.5 - South Side

Jethro only gets a half vote for each of Downtown and South Side LOL!

airport. come on guys.
You are worried about your cars being seen?
I have a car that is unique and most hotels share parking lots with restaurants, other shops, etc.
Nobody would ask me what my car was doing at a hotel, even if they did notice it.
My job requires that I meet with people all the time so no worries for me.
Downtown is a pain in the behind, especially with the horrible lights and traffic in this city.

Yes Michelle's was perfect for us traveling gypsy's.
Anywhere but downtown. I remember my first trip to Ms Develin's. Never driven downtown before, rush hour traffic in my over sized pick up with nothin but an address written on a post it. Gawking at street signs, trying to avoid idiot drivers and j walkers. What lane do i want. Crooked streets, f'd up intersections. WTF is up with some corners, you can't turn right during certain hours?? Who makes this shit up? Anywhere else in the free world you can turn right on red! I had to pull over and get out for a stroll to cool off. When i phoned Angelina to tell her i was late, lost and my stress meter was maxed, some crazy bitch started following me yelling that she needed my cell phone. Lucky for me Ms Develin's sweet understanding demeanor turned what was quickly becoming one of the worst days of my life into one of the best.
So yeah, Anywhere but downtown! lol
Edit : should have said asshole not idiot. You know the kind that are dicks on purpose...

Relatively new but have tried a few locations. My preference is
1. Downtown/Exchange District
2. Airport.
3. Others

I prefer the Airport or north end. The only problem with the north side of the city is finding a good s/p.

Anywhere south of Porfage Ave.
Downtown makes it easy to get a Visit in over lunch, if you work in the area.

airport 100% due to parking and location. Hate how busy downtown is. Only time I go downtown is friday-sunday night when it is not as busy.

Any upscale location with good parking. Downtown during Jets home games and rush hour is a no-go for me, likely the opposite for the business crowd and Jets ticket holders. Most airport hotels are good except right at the terminal. Parking charges and running into people I know makes the terminal hotels a bad option. I like the condos in St B, just central enough, upscale enough, with good parking.

Downtown , Exchange District and Polo Park by the airport works for me.

You would not catch me even considering an incall in Transcona or the North End.

So, after a few days of this I have only counted those that have a definitive answer.

9 Airport/Polo Park area
4 Downtown -1 Anywhere except downtown (hankmoody) which brings us to 3

I knew the Airport/Downtown would be more popular but this is like a 3 to 1 ratio in favor of Airport/Polo Park area.

Anyone else want to chime in?
