I have seen more ads lately that request a potential customer to provide their ethnicity. The term is used in many ways so it seems and I have no clear idea of what to put down. My google search provided this:

"Many people use ethnicity, race, and even nationality as synonyms, but they are not and never have been. Race has always been based on physical or phenotypical characteristics, while ethnicity is based on shared history and culture. Nationality may include multiple ethnicities. Race is an overly complicated and problematic term."

What do you state when this question is on an ad? What answer are ladies expecting to see?

I always ask for my clients ethnicity, to me it means I'm asking if they are African American, Asian, Caucasian, East Indian, etc. The only no no I have is I don't see young African American men under 30yrs old, or any young men under 22yrs old regardless of their ethnicity, I've had a couple bad experiences unfortunately but there in the past. 😊
African Americans are those of Black heritage, from the United States.
Doubt they are reaching out to you, in Winnipeg🤔...of all places 😀

From what I read on forums and escort blogs, 'ethnicity' is a pertinent question to ask because we all travel in similar circles within our own ethnicity regardless of what any Coca-Cola commercial is trying to teach us.

Aside from (often legit) stereotypes, providers are often worried about encountering someone from their own culture and ethnicity, especially if it comes from a certain orthodoxy where "open" sex work is frown on (as opposed to 'out of sight, out of mind'). I mean look at the glaring example of Mia Khalifa. Muslim Porn Star that received numerous death threats during her profession. Same rules would apply to a Muslim prostitute, especially working here in the west most likely intermingling with 'white heathens'.

To answer OP's questions more directly, I can imagine such definitions means a lot to a provider.

If you do a search about the race based method of screening you’ll find your answers.

The provider sets their own limits of comfort and sometimes choose not to see certain races. I note that there are a fair number of senior pooners on Perb. They also are experiencing bias due to age etc.
