I've downloaded the first 10 season of the original Law & Order and was reminded how great a show this was. Also reminds me how shitty most current network TV is.

Amen to that.... I haven't watched a new Law & Order in years, not since Jerry Orbach left - RIP Lennie Briscoe! - but I gotta agree SVU definitely took the ball from them and ran with it...
