In Your Wildest Dreams!
Many of you over the years met my Chief of Security, Willie. He lived to be 15, and had a better life as a dog than some people's kids do. We made the decision today that he was too sick & weak to save; my boy is gone.

Rest in peace, baby boy.

So sorry to hear that Erica.
The worst thing about a dog is they don't live near long enough.
Sounds like he had a great life.

Every person who ever loved a dog knows something of how you feel. Condolences to you Ms. Erica.

Please take some consolation from knowing that you made it possible for your dog to live well.

Sorry for your loss... Dogs are not only a pet sometimes but to good owners like yourself are family.

In Your Wildest Dreams!
Thank you all.

He was such a good dog. I had him for all but the first 6 weeks of his life, and the first week I had him, I carried that little dude around in the front pocket of my ski jacket. I will miss him terribly....but I am glad he went quickly. His kidneys were failing; the sedative before the euthanasia was enough to stop his heart. That's the hard thing; to believe that enormous heart stopped so quickly. That sweet dog was so heavily attuned to our emotional states; I believe he was trying to be of comfort right up until his last minutes.

Very sad to lose a beloved pet after so many years of loving him. Sorry to hear your news and for the void it will leave in your daily life. The loss is a painful reminder of how tenuous all of life is and that too is hard to deal with. Remembering all the good times will help you deal with the void. Talk about him all you want to. Tell us some of the stories you cherish about him.

Dear Erica P:
Dogs often know how we feel before we do. They are good readers of faces, and judges of character. I'm sorry for your loss. His pain is over, but yours may take a while to heal.

I know the shock of how quickly it happens will stay with you for a while as well as the sense of loss. Our thoughts are with you. Force yourself to remember the good times and think of him still watching over you.

My heart aches for you...I can't even fathom being without my two best friends. Keep Willie forever in your memory and I hope in time the hurt heals and the warmth builds.

Erica, I am so sorry for your loss. It brings back tears and memories of my dog. I planted a special tree in his memory and I walk by it every day. They are better than family and friends in some regards, less judgmental and love you unconditionally. May your memories be long and fond.
