Important Message - Personal Info

I have had to ban 2 people today, for 2 weeks apiece, for breaking one of the most important rules we have here. Do NOT post personal info, EVER.

This includes, addresses, real names, jobs or employment, personal pics, or any other information that can be used to out a member or an SP.

I am honestly amazed that two long time PERB members were so ignorant of the consequences of this act, including someone who has been here 12 years.

Folks, the rules are not difficult. Please follow them, I do not like having to ban people, but have to enforce the rules and protect the privacy of all members here.

He's a troll, who posts blatantly nasty and racist garbage, who apparently hates women or at least by the way he speaks about them, it seems that is the case. We are well into the 20s, if not 30s, of his multiple handles. He's had a couple of IP addresses banned, tried TOR and is now using cell phones. Fuckpuppet et al is in tragic need of a new hobby. Any suggestions?

Yes.......if it's who I'm thinking of...he loves to try to get under my skin.
For some strange reason he doesn't like it when you call him Karl.......it seems to hit him very close to home, and shuts him up immediately.

Turn over all collected info (previous ip addresses etc) to yvr_hacker, perhaps he could be of some assistance dealing with Karl.

Edit: Yes it was meant as a joke, I forgot the smiley. As with what we have seen in the day or so personal information is that, personal. The mods and admin are doing a good job removing improper posts. :yield::sorry:

Are you joking, or serious? That would really be an escalation of revealing personal info. I'm sure that yvr_hacker is a fine fellow, but he's just another board member. Whatever the provocation, PERB would have no business passing on personal information about one member to another.

If yvr_hacker were a PERB administrator or moderator, that would be a different thing.

Doesn't matter if said to provoke a response positive or negative; giving any data to a third party is wrong on every level.

Trust Mods and Admin only with everyone's personal data.

Everyone can rest easy, it's been the practice here from day 1 that we don't reveal info to anyone without a court order. Now that the server is in Europe, good luck to any LEO who wants to try to track the board owners/admins down. Mods have very limited power in the software, we can see IPs, but cannot ban them. Delete posts, not accounts etc.
