A girlfriend of mine in the biz has asked my opinion on a number of emails/phone calls she`s been receiving from a potential client this week. I called bullshit as it sounded like a scam i fell for a few years ago where i was lured in with big promises (cash, designer clothes, spa etc) all to be ripped off with a `pre-screening` session but she`s not convinced. I am sorry to bother you but I would like to understand a couple of this and I will explain in more detail why here. May be it will easier to do it this way, because you can read this as you please.

I am a business man and I travel a lot. In certain places I need to find some nice girls. I am in process of closing a major deal for my company. There is a major bid. A week before the decision is made I want to invite the important people to a party. They will come for sure and there will be girls. It will be one girl for each guy. There will be 4 guys plus me. They also wouldn't consider jeopardizing the other parties interests by involving women (or men) who were not integral to the project.

Two things came to mind

The first being is this a seriuos question about it being a scam, i mean did you even need to ask?

Second,
there are red flags all over the first two paragraphs and the last email.

If he only needs four girls why would anyone ( a business man) not use a business that is specific to his needs(escort agency)...not very business savy.
If in fact he wants girls wouldnt it also be quite easy to find willing parties instead of chatting up someone with multiple emails....when you book a client do you talk to them multiple times or do you agree to terms and meet ,done deal.....

Last but not least..if you really want to know if its legit , one thing will tell you for sure !

Ask for half the money up front (to secure the the booking) and the other half when you arrive to meet gentlemen?

Too funny. I would imagine the claims of big $$ alone should be the biggest red flag, but encourage her to contact others who have been contacted as well to see if everyone is getting the same date and time for their "meeting".

Also, it would be interesting to see if there are any new visiting sps who pop up on the dates he is referring to. Good way to cut down the competition is to book out their time so they don't take any appts away lol.

Well the rat`s outta the bag now. Quick update..

In his email, he lists an ID# from a date check site in the US however for it to be valid he has to contact you from there directly. He did not. For the record, the # matches his name/location (Florida) & checks out 13 out of 14 times with 1 no-show/suspicious report.

I chatted with a US escort about this current con and my previous brain fart https://perb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=30821 and she told me about this stunt:

There`s a guy in Vegas who`s infamous for a scam like this one. His story varies from "I`m in charge of the limousines for the MGM Mansions" to "I`m a casino manager for Encore" which are two really elite properties in Vegas if you haven`t been. The Mansions especially -- I think they start at like 10K a night! He says he`s got a famous world-class poker player, athlete, etc. and needs to handle the meeting for him. I never let him get farther than this and he starts getting really angry, threatening about vice, whatever.

A couple of girls have allowed him to continue and unfortunately for them, he actually GIVES them a check in person for 10K or whatever the amount is for the evening with said celebrity/personality. Then, in the exact same few minutes, he asks the girl to cash it at a casino cashier so he can get his 40%-50% cut, which they happily do, naturally. Three days later, a bank calls letting them know the checks are fake and they are responsible for the entire 10K or better!!!

Nina, I think you may have made a mistake telling the guy off as you did. You may have told him what he did wrong so he can adjust the pitch when he uses it in another city.

The scam described in VVs post is a standard used to rip off anyone who has something to sell. He offers you a $1000.00 cheque or money order for your $200.00 lawnmower and you give him the change. Just a fancy way of passing a bad cheque.

It would be easy to put the guy in jail and give him a criminal record if one of his targets had an interest in doing so. It would take a bit of research and organizing but I expect that as soon as he hands over the bad cheque he can be arrested for fraud. Problem is he will be reading this thread so any sting would have to be set up or discussed off the board.
