Idle Curiosity, or...?

A friend who was a stripper has run into people she knows while working. If they went "X, is that you?" it was invariably accompanied by "it's me, Y, from high school" or whatever. Point is if the guy is identifying you without giving any indication how he knows you (or perhaps even who he is) that's by no means casual or innocent. That's a power play.

Good explanation. It might be a clueless attempt to communicate with the second part to come later, but he should have known how it looks without context.

There's an opportunity to remind yourself, some people know your real name, so what? Not worth worrying about or spending time researching the guy. Unless he shows he could go further, which would put him on the wrong side of the law.

Erica. There is prolly something in all of us that is curious. Some have figured out that curiosity killed the cat and some have not. I remember back when in a discussion we had you mentioned we had something in common. I was very curious to know if we had possibly worked together in the past. Went on a quick search .. Then said nope.. Don't wanna know. ThIs is in us all to figure out what is under the mask. Some can hide under the mask well others not at all. Personally I don't think there is any harm intended or a threat. Just some guy proud to find out who is behind the mask. Credits to you both .... It took him 3 months to figure it out. Email him back an just say.. with a Southern accent... That's nice. Which in our family translates to I don't give a Fck.

But many times i have had people approach me and ask me if i was _________ I say no i am not, but your not the first to ask.
Apparently i have a nearly identical twin out there.
One lady described him well, said i am a bit taller, and bigger shoulders, deeper voice to...but really close in resemblance.
I think it just made her feel better to tell me.
Hopefully it is just curiosity and not a whacko.

I don't have any friends that don't know what I do. I don't hide what I do from people I care for. Even my 77 year old mother knows. My uptight next door neighbour & my landlord though? Different story.

Please don't feel that this has me freaked out or worried. As bullying/harassment goes, this one was pretty mild. I spent a lot of my time handling bullying behaviour & bully mentalities when I was a teacher. I am not concerned about escalation, and I am pretty sure that this incident was isolated. Running away from him gives him power. They are like vampires; you don't invite them into your home, or you give them power over you. I am not bullyable. I am bullyproof.

...in the previous emails to him/between you.. had you maybe mentioned your real name.. and he is simply suing it, because he knows it? a possibility. albeit small one...

but, in the event is is in fact a garden-variety creeper... then yes, keep any messages... save them.... that way, in the event it escalates into something.. then you have material to back you up.

I had to do that with one very disturbing individual that absolutely would not take no for an answer... he booked a massage.... pulled a no-show...(of course, after receiving my location information...) and proceeded to harass me via email.. phonecalls... never once meeting him face to face.. entirely creepy! *demanding* that I allow him into my apartment for a massage (or more) at 4am!! I blocked his number... changed mine.. that took care of that.. but was advised by a friend who is with the police to keep track of everything he sent me....

*I* answered a rather odd generic comment in a personal column a while back... just out of curiosity... and it turns out... it's this creepy loser again! good gawd!! lol
he badgered me for a while again, thinking it was hilarious that I was threatening to send all the emails to the police.. hehe until.. in one of my replies I informed him I was looking at formally charging him with harassment and stalking... .. there was showing another address the email was going to... (the detective who had told me to save everything)

hehe.. surprising how fast he tucked his dicklet back into his own ass and ran away

I wouldn't let him get the better of you.. but I am not one to brush it off...(without saving it anyway hehe)
