Help me out here. I'm trying to figure out why religious icons make me uncomfortable.
Canadians tolerate all kind of freedom of religions like no other nation in this world, and as an agnostic I feel the same and respect everybody’s faith.
Last Sunday I learnt about sp through an advertisement which was quite lengthy.
When I met her, she was not quite ready. I sat in her sitting room for a few minutes while she was smoking and watching TV. Then she invited me in to a fairly modest bed room with no wall decoration. In the course of activities I noticed two big rosaries facing me from the wall. They were hanging from the wall, and they were moving like clock pendulum with her movements. It was not comfortable at all!

Bedroom décor

It is said that decorating a room is a personal expression of someone’s tastes and attitudes. The room's décor can make it pleasing to the eye and an enjoyable place to be in with sp. I personally believe that to have no decoration is better than bad decoration. My favorite things to place in a bedroom are candles, mirror as well as special lighting arrangements. To my humble opinion “Religious Wall Icons and Statues” Such as picture of Virgin Merry or East Indian prophets are not appropriative decoration , when a bedroom is open to public.

Religious icons usually make me laugh my ass off, especially when religious people take them so seriously.

Take the Jesus fish for example. It is a pagan symbol to depict her Vulva. So every time I see a fish on someone’s car I usually get a smile on my face.

To some extent, it can be an extention of our secular/colonial mentality...
How many times have you seen something like this in a home: an Orthodox icon hanging in the living room along with a Catholic Madonna statue on the end table, with a smiling Chinese golden buddha sitting on the coffee table. Fast forward out the back door to the garden, only to find a Hindu Ganesh statue in the gazebo, Oriental wind chimes, and another Indian buddha statue by the fish pond....just pretty trophies gleaned from all over the globe and thrown together in a mish mash without ANY spiritual significance whatsoever.
