Rent an ice rink with your buddies at the crack of dawn for an hour twice a week for a few weeks and go crazy . Nothing impossible. You'll get to 50/70% of that speed.

Keep in mind that the guy is a lefty turning right having to use his back end control going around which creates an increased difficulty to the drill.

Have fun!

The guy in the video is in the Anaheim Ducks farm system. He is suppose to take over for the traded Jaime Drysdale who is an amazing skater and one of the reasons I tuned in for Ducks games.

Thanks for the advice how to do that!!!

And yeah he is going in the more difficult direction. Man can he skate

Any on here able to do this.

This is the only thing in life I dream of being able to do.
Get out there and skate at your local arena for public skating.

The more you skate the better you get

I used to be a very good skater but for various reasons had to stop playing hockey.

Played in a weekend tournament about 5 years ago. Out of shape and feeling like I was skating in sand. Slow as fuck but most of the skills were still there.

After a number of surgeries in the last few years, I hope to get back into it next fall.

Get out there and have a great time!

Could replicate those skills somewhat, at a fraction of the pace mind you, on rolerskates back during my days as a patrol @ Stardust.
Love me some Vancouver Voodoo!

Do you guys really feel these Skates that costs over 1k do nothing for us rec guys? I bought into it almost. Got the Matrix skate which is a Bauer Mach cheaper knockoff and did not feel it was anything better than my mid level skate. The reflex tendon, asymmetrical toe cap--- I did not feel it was anything I could feel. I prefer the mid level Bauer M4, better fit and the old style fixed tendon guard was better for backwards skating to me.

I am just going to buy Cheaper closesout models from years past now. Like Ribcores 76k to 80k models off sideline swap. I bought the Ribcore Titanium skate and it has better energy transfer the the latest Matrix model that cost over 700 bucks. I got the Titanium skate for 120 bucks new.
