After a hard and stressful couple of weeks, I really wanted to go for a ride with some charming company. I considered several choices for this evening and considered the next evening's availability too. Then I saw that there was a Mercedes available at Jaileys, and I liked the looks and specs of this model. Trawler had taken her for a test drive upon finding her on CL and reported back with positive results so I had high expectations. Alas, those expectations were not met.
The chassis of this model is slim and sleek with round & squeezable seating and small but responsive headlights - it brings to mind the 2006 Rhythm Hunny, one of my all-time favorite and memorable rides. The coloring of the body, which felt silky-smooth to the touch, is lighter than depicted on the webpage. The frontplate, with those eyes and light brown/blonde hair, leads me to believe she's of an Eastern European production line akin to the Revive Savannah. The body was clad in a leopard-print bikini, leg warmers and high heels.
The test drive began with a rushed usher into a room and 2$$.4 upfront. After a cleanup in the shower, she drove in a light massage mode. A switch to reverse allowed me to traverse some nice curves but responsiveness was mild. A shift to CBJ mode was merely serviceable and I felt maybe my stickshift wasn't going to gear up because of it. I suggested we drive into 69 mode - she agreed but only if another 3 greens was added at the end of the drive. She responded well to the DATY and CBJ, which continued for a long while. Once my tranmission was into high gear, we shifted into CG mode, which felt nice and tight enough for a climatic rush to the finish line. Elapsed time was about 40 minutes, but it could have gone longer had I was able to drive longer.
All throughout this test drive, I didn't feel very comfortable with this model and that feeling was reciprocated. Conversation was stilted and uneasy, as was any interpersonal chemistry. The performance seemed perfunctory and mechanical half the time, except during DATY mode. When the drive was over and we took turns showering up, my departure was hastened by both of us.
Overall, this Mercedes felt like a 2001 mid-mileage trip around the block, which would have been perfectly acceptable at that time, but performance standards and prices have increased significantly since then, so the experience was merely OK. For 3$$ I would have expected better performance, so I am afraid that I will not be going for another drive with this model. Maybe other drivers will have better luck, as Trawler can attest to.
What adds to the disappointment is that I could have gotten better mileage and a more charming personality with a Supreme Lilith tonight. Or waited the next evening for a high-powered performance with a fully-equipped Legends Vienna.
