I went out last for the first time in a while. Huge mistake. :doh:

Got in line at around 11:00 pm, and already I could tell this night was going to be a huge disappointment. Pretty much all the girls were with their boyfriends - guys who looked like they'd just stepped off the set of Geordie Shore. Fake tans and waxed eyebrows galore.

Once I got in, I noticed everyone was still sticking to their little cliques. Couples dancing / having drinks and a bunch of lonely guys on the perimeter watching the top 20%-ers and their girlfriends enjoy themselves. I was only the guy who cold approached.

All in all, I approached 10 "sets" (I hate using that term, but w/e), only to be quickly and unceremoniously shot down every time. Girls would either bury their heads in the iPhones and pretend to text, turn away, or just plain ignore me. At the end of the night, not one girl left with a guy she hadn't arrived with. Not one guy had gotten a number from a stranger.

The highlight of my night occurred after the place closed. Got outside, and some couple was making out right of front of me. I walked up to them, pulled out my iPhone, and started filming them. "You're making me horny," I said with an impish grin.

Of course the guy got confrontational at first. But when I actually got in his face, he backed down and cowered away to his car. I guess his muscles were all for show.

I have no reason to feel inferior. That guy just happened to be born with modelesque facial proportions and skin. He did absolutely nothing to earn a cute girlfriend. Luckily I don't derive my sense of self-esteem from such trivial things.

1) Not cool to video strangers without asking
2) Ridiculous and invasion o privacy especially when they are making out(doesn't matter if they are doing so infront of everyone- do you see everyone making a video?)

Maybe change your approach towards picking up girls?
I read somewhere people "date" people who are (lookswise) on their own level or a bit higher and when they go lower in the looks department its usually because of an amazing personality.... maybe there is some truth to that?

As much as this thread has gone downhill pretty fast, I think the OP has a point. It is no longer cool to try and pick up girls at the bar.

Girls have better things to do, I'm afraid. They go to the bar to hear the music, and to hang out and drink and dance with their girlfriends. They're not interested in some (lame or not) guy trying to get their attention.

A guy has to keep up with the times. When a girl wants to date, she goes on match or e-harmony, or she takes classes in something that interests her, like boxing. She typically doesn't fall for guys that approach her on the street or at coffee shops.

I know a young beauty that gets hit on all the time. She considers it flattering but would never consider talking to someone that she didn't already have a fairly extensive 'resume' on. She just says, 'thank-you!'

Even though both genders can and do lie and exaggerate in their online profiles, at least you can take a few weeks to see if this is someone you want to get to know at all. Looks just aren't cutting it any more; women seem to know that there are a lot of good-looking guys out there, who are jerks. And the same goes for the fellas, who know that there's a lot of eye-candy on them there Vancouver streets, that they wouldn't want to have anything to do with, due to arrogance.

Get with the times, hedonist. You might have better luck using the bar for guys night out, and just enjoy the view!

Bars are just not really pick up joints any more, to me they are a waste of money and time. WHO cares what a guy looks like, although there is some care to that, but I'd rather be able to communicate and have stimulating conversation with a guy than if he's modelesque in appearance, any one can have looks (since you can buy them) brains is a completely other story.

I'd certainly say that this is more of an Autumn / Winter type of chocolate bar as the whisky and the dark chocolate does draw the moisture out of your mouth given the alcohol content. It's also rich and intense and this is surely going to be a favorite with so many people.

The club scene is not the place to pickup chicks. Way to many games goin on. Most women just want free drinks and there is way to much competition. They all know we just wanna get in their panties.
