YES!!! Jonny Quest did have a good theme song going for it...but...Really...not very realistic.

C`mon...they let little Hadji on the plane with his turban...I know for a fact he had a bomb under there and was just waiting for the right moment...

On the other hand...Rocket Robin Hood was much more believable...the year 3000...a direct decendant of the original Robin Hood...the same band of Merry Men...the good guys are white...the bad guys are black...easy to follow...

I also remember Mr. Morgan Freeman on The Electric Company after school...

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/3kuKcX8QrOM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

BTW...H.R. Puffenstuff was just plain wierd...even for the early 70`s...

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/RlRCH0EKYmM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I love the line from the song "HR Puffinstuff, who`s your friend when things get rough"`

I blame this show for my drug use during the 70`s...80`s...90`s...and beyond...

Oh...Oh...Oh...

I almost forgot about the Hilarious House of Frightenstein...

Bobby Van did most of the characters...I am pretty sure he was stoned out of his mind during most of the tapings...

They had Vincent Price to do some of the bits...Good Times...

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/BsaFDZfz8Lc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Grammar is important...

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/AN32WUgLhzw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The Professor was pretty cool...A Real Professor of Physics on a Kids TV Show...

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/4wzSKEruj70" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The Librarian...Billy Van...Terrifying...

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/fw8T3xycCVw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And Grizelda the Gourmet..again Billy Van...

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/AcvofD-4rto" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Billy Van as the Count...with Gronk...

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/MjpS878VatI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Again....I am sure these people were on better drugs than I could afford at that time...

Still lost in the '60s
I can't remember...

the thing you put into the big hold of a 45 record if your record player didn't have a 45 spindle.

What were they called?

Yeah, those thing! Spindles? Like round bread tags...I still have 'em cause I still have a stack of 45s.

Remember the reindeer at Oakridge mall every Xmas?...always one with a red (pink) nose.

Ok...I hated H.R. Pufnstuff...and I secretly suspected my brother was queer, he loved Captain Kangaroo too, and the fucking moose and those ping pong balls irritated me...

I remember Kotex when: the pads were enormous and we had to wear belts to hold them up....yuck eh? Just what you needed to know....

It was embarrassing when your jeans slipped down and exposed the belt...

I remember when girls were not allowed to wear pants to school, or shorts and you got sent home in 'shame' if you did not comply...and that was a public school, too. Yup, leotards and skirts in the fucking cold. We've come a long way, baby :)

Wow I can't believe your brought this up! I tell people about this occasionally and no one remembers it.
It was always such a sad site.

Do you remember the awesome donuts they made and sold in the store there?

Yes, I remember the donuts! Smothered with different coloured icings....

I was too young to think of the reindeer's welfare, sadly...

"...........H R Puffinstuff? Or how about the bananna splits?...."

Gawd, my brother loved those shows! Remember 'Johnny West'? Or that one that was puppets? I was reeeally young then.

Red Skelton, The Avengers ('thing' gave me nightmares)

When there was a such thing as 'sports day' at school and the whole school was involved including parents and for at least two weeks before the event kids split up into their houses and worked on giant signs, and decorations....and people didn't get stupid ribbons for '28th place' lol!

does anyone remember what a 'malted' was?
Puff n Stuff kind of freaked me out... it was weird. But I loved the Banana Splits... some of my earliest memories http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbU5CzPi0zM

Don't forget Mighty Mouse and the old school Tom and Jerry on KVOS (now METV). Other classics were Smurfs, My Pet Monster and Inspector Gadget.

I also remember JawBreakers that could literally break jaws, as well as the first generation of GobStoppers.

I love the intensity of the playoffs this year but I remember when players had respect for each other and didn't try to injure. This was due to the enforcer, which thanks to rule changes, are all but extinct.

I remember collecting Hockey cards.. and they came with terrible flat sheets of gum in them.
I remember when you could still get 'the strap' at school
I remember when you could buy a comic book or a chocolate bar for 25 cents
I remember when National Geographic would have ads in the front for huge 'console' televisions that had wood paneling and were designed to be the center of your living room furniture.
I remember bikes with banana seats..

And as somebody already mentioned.. I remember when in order to get a ribbon on sports day you had to come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. And if you didn't... no ribbon.

Whew.

I remember when The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The F.B.I. and Get Smart were the best and probably the only "Agent" shows on television.
I remember when small corner grocery stores were the place to hang out.
I remember when gas stations were all full service and if they filled your tank up, you would get a free corning ware like mug. Free lollipops or suckers were given to the kids.
I remember when seat belts were optional and there were no stop signs in residential intersections.
I remember when the first VHS machine retailed for $1,100.
