I-phone tracking

What do people think about the discovery that Apple deliberately put a chip in I-phones so they are always tracked.
We all know that the cops can locate someone using a cell phone , but this is quite different in they had it in the phone and do not tell you.
I think they should have to tell you when you purchase it , now i want a re-call so they can delete the function.
i think this is going to hurt the sales of the new 4 when this gets out more into the public.
how and where to go to get this fixed?
a new business for some geeks....?

Before everyone gets to worked up over this issue. All smartphones that use location or gps services like finding the closest gas station, pizza , etc. use this data! This is nothing new, the file was reported in December 2010 in a publication iOS Forensic Analysis. This topic is just for media sensationalists who think they have a great tale to weave without doing their proper homework. To quote Levinson a co-author of the book."iPhone forensics expert Alex Levinson has three problems with O’Reilly’s report on the “consolidated.db” location log file:
1. Apple is not collecting this data.
2. This hidden file is neither new nor secret.
3. This “discovery” was published months ago. "

Yawn.
