I think the healthiest way to shock your system into losing weight is to eat nothing but low-calorie soups (<400 calories per meal) for about a week. Whenever you feel hungry, take a nap and sleep it off. After you wake up, you will probably not be hungry anymore. Once your stomach has shrunk, you should be able to move to a more balanced diet.

I also know a SP who uses something called Hydroxycut. I think it makes you poop out all your food.

You wanna lose weight really fast?

Eat nothing for a week, except apples (go get a crate of them). Drink nothing but water. Go for 2 jogs a day when it's cool, one in the morning, one in the early evening. Use an MP3 player to keep you company, jog for at least half an hour. You'll lose weight so fast you might even scare yourself.

The following 3 weeks, eat nothing but salads, soups and apples. Don't eat bread, meat, any dairy. Keep jogging twice a day.

Return to a more normal meal after that, but keep up your jogging. The weight will not come back.

In one month you would have lost 2 waist sizes permanently.

Don't use ephedrine. It can kill you even if you don't abuse it. Drink coffee and black tea instead. If you really want to increase your metabolic rate, drink Darjeeling black tea.

I agree GBM. I've used this method many times with great success.

There is a school of thought that if you can keep off the weight for three months in a row, your body will adjust its metabolic rate to suit, making it easier to keep it off permanently. Yes, it can return, but only if you get back to the bad habits that got you there to begin with. Generally speaking, it takes longer to put on weight than to take it off. This fact alone, makes it a great motivator for all concerned to get on the program now.

Ephedra is a quick fix. Better to fast instead...

I have taken Ephedra and other supplements in the past but always felt jittery or some other sensation that was unpleasant,,,,,,, the one that I found to be very useful and safe is "Tonalin CLA" (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) and it worked great, i burned more fat and built muscle

So far all the studies i have read on CLA seem to be very good, no serious side effects

I have been taking Ephedra for over 12 years now pretty much straight.

Facts that I have researched about it and from personal experience

1. It does work for weight loss and appetiete suppression.
2. When you first start taking it, you will feel like you drank 10 cups of coffee in 1 hr.
3. For the first 5 months or so when taking it your heart rate will rise when on it. After that period of time the jitters and the increase heart rate will go away.
4. Stacking with Asprin, and cafenine(sp) makes it more effective.
5. If you have a heart condition or a prostate problem do not take it for your own safety.
6. You can overdose from it, and die. However ALL cases have involved people with either heart conditions or in extreme cases of dehydration/heat stroke. Like the football player/baseball player or the many cases of wrestlers trying to make weight.

Usage,

Do not take more then 50 miligrams over a 12 hour period, include a cup of coffee or cola, along with half an asprin for the best and safest use. A product called "Thermolean" is what I currently use and fully reccommend for its quality. It has 24 mg of Ephedra, whitewillow bark (asprin) and Cola nut in herbal form mixed together for a stack.

a long read but a good one

Talks about how gov't demonized good old butter in favour of the more profitable hydrogenated crap & shoved a cereal heavy food pyramid down our throats which has turned us into a nation of processed food addicted fatties. Who came up with this pyramid? It wasn't science, it was big biz who realized there wasn't enough $ in selling fresh basic produce & protein. Consuming drugs is just falling into another big biz set trap...not to mention you risk your health. You're smarter than that.

My simple advice is stay away from the centre isles in the grocery store & shop the perimeter. Join weight watchers too, they have an excellent track record in helping peeps keep off the weight. And pick up a copy of Fast Food Nation while you're at it. It's not just about what you put in your body, it's about being an empowered consumer & sending a message to food producers & government.

Whew...now i'm in a state...who wants to have sex?

watching from the sidelines
Sex is great for wieght loss!!

The funny thing that has developed in this thread is that, people are under the assumption that I do not eat healthy. I do. People assume that I do not exercise. I do. People assume that I over eat. I don't. I am a pretty smart cookie and if it was as simple as diet and exercise we would not be having this discussion. What I am doing is NOT working, when it is not working, then you try something else. That is where you all come in, this is a way for me to find out what has worked for others, gather some useful/useless info, and then to see what things I could do differently to see a different result. I already know what works for some will not work for others.

The factors to take into consideration:
-I quit smoking a year ago
-I have quit working outside of my home
-I have moved to another city
-I am not eating anymore than I used to
-I have way less stress than I did before
-I exercise regularly
-I could not gain weight up until 10 months ago (no matter how hard I tried)

If it was simply a matter of getting a new bathing suit...fine. But it is not. I have now gone through my closet (again) and removed a ton of clothes! I am just afraid that this is the beginning of continual weight gain.

So keep the ideas cuming and for "eden's" sake get VV laid!!!!

In & Out

Weightloss is really quite simple, all the calories enter the body through the mouth and are then used in activity. If you put fewer calories in your mouth then you burn you loose weight. Could lose weight eating chocolate, could gain weight eating fruit.

Hence second part is eating balanced to stay healty, provide the proteins and fat your body needs (yes body does need fat). Any diet that only includes one food group or excludes another food group is bad. Can try foods with different glycemic index to maintain energy levels (one reason why the aforementioned apples are good, provide energy over a long period of time).

Try keeping a food diary, write down whatever it is you put through your mouth in a day. Count the calories. Then figure out how to space your meals (three meals, heavier ones earlier, snacks in between, not eat past 6pm) and not eat all the high calories with low nutritional content type food.

Dont mess with how your body works through drugs, we have not been able to improve on anything nature has done yet. (and am just waiting for an implant related comment but each his own)

Hi Eden,
Here is a link to the Vitamin Shop (Victoria, BC) web page on various weight and diet supplements, drinks/shakes, etc...including ingredient information on each They also have a toll free number that you can call if you need to talk to them in person. I have found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable on the products which they carry. I think most of these products are used to curb your appetite.

http://www.canadianvitaminshop.com/.../45?Type=2&MultiCats=1175,1176,1177&secNav=90

I think you are on the right track with regular exercise and eating properly (not that I know much about exercise and proper diet being a junk food addict and all  ,lol) as the two most effective and safe way to maintain or lose weight...the above products should be used mainly as a supplement. I hope this is of some help...good luck!

i was reading some jibberish about cleansing your digestive system. it said that if your system is clean then the stuff you eat will digest faster and go through you faster so it will not sit there and get added to the fat that is already on your body. there are cleansing pills you can buy at those nutrition stores if you look into it.

Once people start using laxatives to move stuff through their system, the system chooses to get lazy. Once the system gets lazy, the person will have to continuously use laxatives and enemas to clean out the system.

Also because the system is no longer extracting the water the way it should, the contents go into little pockets that they wouldn't otherwise have gone into. This causes an incureable, untreatable form of Cancer that kills you very quickly. The Cancer goes very quickly from the bowel, to the liver and lungs.

My kid brother died of this two years ago. It was only two or three months from when the doctor diagnosed him to when he died. He had been into all this alternative health shit and liked how he would lose 5 - 10 pounds when he had an enema. (He was gay, into fisting, sodomy, etc.)
