Holy crap...long flight. 18 + hours. It's like 7 am here, Thursday. Go figure - hell of a thing to do to an easily confused person! LOL!I'm on the computer at school so this'll be short (getting a tour of the joint this morning), and haven't got to eat ANY kimchee yet. First Korean meal was...ready for it? KD! My honey's mom sent him 4 boxes of it in a care package - that, Tums, and some Levis.

If you're like a big 6 ft Canadian guy, getting jeans that fit can be a hassle here. Good thing I'm shrimpy. Anyways, gotta go, hope everything is cool in Perbville! Supposed to be able to get digital cameras cheap here, so when I get one, I'll send some photos :)

Ophelia :)

Actually, I bet KD + kimchee would rock. I'll let you know...

Cameras and everything else is cheap on the black market over there.

By the way I'm gonna need a few kidneys a lung, few hundred bear and moose hearts, couple BMW's and a Land Rover, some caucasion kids, couple hundred DVD players. A few more things as they come up.

40 bux should cover it, buy yourself some McD's with the change.

Glad you made it safely OB.

Quite the trip hey.... I went to HK last Sept and it was a 14 hr flight (through SF). 12+hrs through Vanc but I didn't want to fly AC and it was cheaper through SF and United.

Take it easy and enjoy Korea. I hope its everything you hoped it would be and more!!!!

Good luck with your new life. Just remember, good or bad, sweet or bitter, you are living YOUR life. A lot of people could only stay home and watch other people's life through a box.

Enjoy.

Good luck to you OB. It is not easy for a Westerner to live in an Oriental country. I am a Chinese and my ex is a European. Even after eight years in Asia, she still found it hard to stay there.Partly due to the climatical change and partly she was missing her European heritage. This is one of the major factor I moved to Canada 14 years ago.

You have to be patience to learn a new set of rules and life style changes. The more you can integrate to the Korean society, the more happy you will find there. Always remember they are not Canadian, but Korean!

All the best!;)

Dear Ophelia,
I am pleased to hear you have arrived safely. What differences in lifestyles you must be witnessing! The foods, the local customs and the media would be a bit overwhelming to me.

I pray you shall discover the real person that you are, loving, caring for others and finding that special purpose for life which we all have.

I can only hope we can be friends when you return.
All my best to you and yours!
