Ive gone through this as well. IF you want some help to get over it, have a good read about sex addiction and try and get some help on it. Might open your eyes as to why you are doing this. Not saying you are a sex addict, it has just helped me cut back this and porn immensely.

It’s impressive, shocking or embarrassing, depending on how you look at this. I’m leaning toward the latter two. I thought 2019 was bad, 2022 was double. I wont say how much I spent but it was obscene. So, my post was a knee jerk reaction that may or may not be legit.
I’m keeping my dates this week, and then I’ll re-evaluate. At best, I’m severely cutting back or I may ride off into the sunset later on this week. I enjoy reading every else’s experiences and it’s fun getting a feel for some of your personalities. I’ve been here for almost thirteen years now. Jesus that’s a long goddamned time, so leaving probably isn’t a bad idea. Regardless, it’s been fun. Maybe I’ll write a final “how to” guide to have the best chance of fun
Unfortunately when you apply the sunk cost fallacy into dating or treat it like an investment piece instead of a commitment to getting to know someone better or meeting new people and seeing where it goes, you end up with a lot of one sided situations like this.

I had a similar revelation. My other half mentioned going on a nice trip somewhere we’ve never been ( such as another continent). I did some quick math in my head and realized I had spent enough for said nice trip on this hobby over the last yr. TBH I want to continue going on a trips as well. Those experiences are important too.
However , realistically I Don’t want to stop. So I simply decided to “change my frequency.” Now I am sticking to a different schedule. Special occasions ( Bday, Christmas etc ) as well as change of seasons works for myself . Its all about the frequency . If you play out of your limit than one day you will have no choice but to stop. But if you figure out what works for you that you can live with, ( and stick to it ) then if you choose to you can keep going as long as you like.
But in the end we all must do what we feel is best for us. Thats what it comes down to.

I mean this is a very traditional way of looking at a relationship where a man pays for everything. All my relationships have been with women who are successful in their own careers/can support themselves so your example only really works for a certain kind of woman/relationship.
