I don't think so

Butthead, the P Hernandez song was from the 80's gay/disco step-on-some-amy-nitrate please time not the 70's polyester leisure suit/disco what's-your-sign time period.

Jeez half the people on this thread were either sperm count or trying to learn how to tie there shoes when disco came out in the 70's. Disco should have blown up like the Ford Pinto. And just for all you conspiracy freaks the "Barbeque that seats four" was introduced to North America on September 11, 1970.
I was in my early teens when disco peaked so I would know better than you. Quoted from wikipedia:

His first single that was released was the disco song "Born to Be Alive". Its success was immediate, and in January 1979, Hernandez received his first Gold Record from Italy. The song spread throughout Europe, where it hit #1 in France in April and remained there until July. By then, the United States had caught on, and through some remixing, the record was signed to the A-Tom-Mik label headed by award-winning dance promoter Tom Hayden and legendary music publisher Mike Stewart through their label/production deal with Columbia Records. The remixed version of "Born to Be Alive" was released on a commercial 12" single, and it shot up the disco charts to #1 and crossed over to the Top 40 peaking at #16. By year's end, Hernandez had racked up an impressive 52 Gold and Platinum Record awards from more than 50 different countries.

Disco died on July 12, 1979

Butthead,

Since you want to quote the ever-evolving wikipedia maybe you need to brush-up on your disco history.

Stating that you were in your early teens when disco hit its peak in 1979 explains it all. I see a "Fez" in the making.

You obviously have issues related to the topic of this thread. Do you really need to ruin it? Go hijack another thread.

I dedicate this to you:

If you're going to use that article as your source, at least read the whole thing:

According to the 1986 book "Rock of Ages: The Rolling Stone history of Rock and Roll" the event was the "emblematic moment" of the anti-disco "crusade" and noted that "the following year disco had peaked as a commercial blockbuster".

In all seriousness, I worked in a disco bar for quite a number of years. I was fun for the first while, what with the revival, but after hearing girls scream like idiots when the DJ played "I Will Survive" for the 567th time, it got to be a bit much...

....but the vast amounts of alcohol I imbibed helped.... :D

Do you see much of a difference now? It's just a bunch of white chicks performing wannabe hip hop, while all of the girls scream and dance to the latest Brittany Spears type singer

Watching VV's first Shaft video, there's someone who pops up in it a few times that looked suspiciously like an early Jesse Jackson.

So I Googled it, and apparently they DID appear together at some concert finale back in 1973.

How's that for useless trivia!

As well as newer, "disco inspired" tunes...
