Was at Brandie's with the girls thursday nite and a superfly stripper (with black afro & sparkly blue spandex) did a routine to 70's songs starting with The Hustle. I recalled learning the steps in school gym class & remembered them much to Sandi Laine & Kristy's amusement, lol. Check out the dancing genie just after the minute mark..jennifer beals..shelley duvall? What's everyone's fav tunes from that amazing era?

Disco was the beginning of our end

I was a partner in a nightclub right at the peak of Disco. This movement was just a cultural panacea for the ills that were occurring to Western Society. The value of money was changing, oil had to be traded in US Dollars only and the big one "Watergate" had numbed the psyche of the western world. The Hippie movement and back-to-the earth folks were moving Western Society to a more natural way with organics, environmentalism and elevating consciousness levels to a higher state through the introduction of Eastern Spiritual Philosophies.

With disco it was polyester, consumerism and shallow ego. Throw in cocaine which begat crack which begat crystal meth and see how the last 35 years of drugs, greed and careless attitude towards our earth has pushed present humanity quickly past the tipping point.

Yes, I blame it all on DISCO.

I had the DJ in our club was instructed to play this O'Jays song a little bit louder than any other song.
