Nickelback is a typical testosterone rock band. Mostly they're selling image: bad boys...but not really. They're like a modern hair band. Groomed to look ungroomed, they pose and make fuck faces while singing their "meaningful" songs to young girls who want to fuck them, and 20-something males who want to be them. They're to music what books-on-tape are to literature.

I don't even hear their music it's so weightless and insignificant. I guess mostly I just find everything about them to be boring as fuck.

Throat Rock

There is nothing more gay, than a grown man with a goatee, moaning and whining about how tough his times are. Chad Whatshisface looks like he has been removed from some 1982 High School Battle of the Band contest winner and his candy-ass wannabe guitar players actually have to tell him that each new song he brings to the table is a glowing accomplishment - completely different from anything he has ever done. Its shameful really. I have just as much respect for a thief who has stolen everything that is in his possession and hasn't worked a day in his life. Nickelback will one day be the laffing-stock of the Music industry and sit side-by-side with such rock greats as Honeymoon Suite, Glass Tiger, Creed, Poison, Ratt, and Winger. Completely forgettable. End up being a trivia question on some terrible game show on cable TV in the future. Whatever. Thats not music. Its Fluff. Or Throat Rock.

typical how Bruce Allen type of shite gets all the attention, dough etc when Canada has produced a whealth of great indie bands. Although I don't listen to much pop music that is current these days I thought Arcade Fire was so totally original, fresh, intelligent and deserve the aclaim they are getting. Now if that could translate into record sales like these goofs Nickelbach or whatever they are called than yes there is a god. Go out and drop a few bucks on Arcade Fire. Now!

I did that last year. "Funeral" is a great album.
Death From Above 1979 is another good Canuck indie band.
