I do not know if this news is being broadcast in Canada, but a senator from South Dakota became very seriously ill yesterday. The first reports were he had a stroke. He had emergency surgery and he is in critical condition in hospital.
All of the news organizations (ABC/NBC/MSNMC/FOX) are providing a 15 second report on his health. Then say we wish him well and go off on to speculate what will happen if he dies or is so ill he needs to resign.
For fuck sakes the guy is not even cold yet…..hell he is even dead… Can we at least hold back on the stupid reports of how this will change the balance of power in Washington……

Is the desire for power so great that we can trivialize the serious condition this guy is in and start to jockey for position in the new power base? I know that is a rhetorical question and a stupid one at that.
