Dude, I wouldn’t. Of course I’m not certain, but it’s likely the same type of scam you hear about where someone is conned into buying gift cards to pay some dubious tax penalty from a fake CRA “representative.”
Of course many reputed and legit ladies require deposits, and some accept GCs, but don’t be fooled. Lots of threads about this subject here.
I googled “gift card deposit scam” and the following Q and A came up. Slightly different context but same BS
“How come every girl keeps asking for gift cards like iTunes, Steam Wallet, Amazon, and eBay every time I chatted with them in Hangouts? Have you guys asked to send gift cards on every dating site?”

“Because the “girls” you’re talking to are middle-aged men running scams with multiple fake profiles on dating sites. They create appealing-sounding profiles that you’re falling for; you haven’t yet learned to recognize scam profiles. (Hint: one tool you can use is reverse image searches on the profile photos. These scammers use photos of super-hot women from stock photo agencies or stolen from Instagram.)”

If it’s a con, “she” will likely ask you to prepay entirely or make a deposit in GC by sending the card’s serial number then maybe try to take you for more if you arrive at the “incall” to get the buzzer number. “She” isn’t in the building and likely not even in your city, Canada even.

My own rule is that any ad that uses the expression “hookup or hook-up” is a scam. Half them outright offer “no restrictions” which confirms my rule.

I found out how the scam is played out , I messed with the scam A$$HAT for 2 hrs !!!

I'll type it out and post it.

So as best as I can get !
Scammer wants 200 in gift cards (steam wallet or vanilla gift card) found in wally world.
I go shopping on Wednesday in Nanaimo for the week , so i dropped in to WW and took a few pix and sent them to the scammer , he wanted the back shot of the numbers after i scratched the ID code box. Scammer sent me a pix of the scratch one of what was cash to him/her..
Before i got the room number of the Best Western across from superstore. They had road work just outsde BW parking lot that worked right into the play.
So between superstore ,costco ,calabas and the rest I was asked for shots of the back of gift cards to get the room # of the BW and then I would leave the rest of the card with the so called "Clare".
I was phone twice from that # ,sent to voice mail , .
I even said that I walked up to front desk and showed a picture of the young lady in the shot and asked if she had been seen in the hotel . , scammer sent 5 texts saying don't do that, I never would, just having a laff at the BS.

So the next day I get a text asking me again if I wanted the room # to send a picture of said gift card, sent picture i took at WW of the back , excluding the scratched off area, another hour of texting just to piss off the scammer, between farm chores and such of moving poo , this was a break making me laugh.
The scam is the gift card value that somehow they can use and no room number or worse you go to a room that is someone eles.

I did textl the scammer a waste of time and I have been on to them since the beginning.
No texts after that 1.5 days later

Just had the same deal in Whistler. Wanted pictures of receipts, of cards scratched off, etc. But never a returned call. All offers to meet in the bar to say "hi" rebuffed. I eventually figured it out. Hell, there probably wasn't a girl involved. Just some guy in Kiev or Lagos with pictures of cute girls. BTW: The chick in Whistler is named Susan and claims to be staying Aava hotel.

had the same experience today in Courtenay Emmy was scheduled for a massage she didn't want cash just vanilla mc then when i got the the hotel she wanted me to text the card front pictures for her security and then the backs of the cards with the last four digits covered and the three digit code with only one digit showing it was a cost of 3oo dollars or three gift cards then after a hour and a half of sitting outside the hotel she said she was on her way down to pick me up but then she said opps i meant the other mc gift card so run to the store and get 200 dollars of them and then she will be ready for me and give me a extra hour on her time i left didn't feel good should have split earlier i guess lesson learned . Emmy is on Leo beware if you are up island

It’s truly unfortunate to see these types of threads! More so that there is individuals both falling for, and scamming thru ads. These individuals have made posting certain words to leolist near impossible. After three hours of attempting to write an ad for a Christmas fundraiser, and several back and forth to leolist an ad was poorly and minimally written to avoid “forbidden” words such as gift card or tax receipt! Scammers make the legit ladies work harder, prove more and ultimately frustrated with the system.

Sure it's unfortunate to hear about someone's misfortune. Reading the details and hoops these male members are going through to book an encounter with an escort is mind boggling though. Leaves me with so many question marks...on their part, considering the numerous posts on these scams. I digress though and won't victim blame or shame.
As for those of us who create ads on LL, it is frustrating and if I could get away with not advertising there, I would have kicked them to the curb years ago. LL is trifling! My suggestion is to just find ways to beat them
at their own game. I know I don't have the time to go back n forth with LL.

Now smile, make better decisions, find what this industry can truly give you and enjoy it.
