O.k., here’s ghostie’s late evening “adventure” . I started out trying to set up a date with this new girl on Local Es, Mya Monrose. I called at about midnight and she didn’t pick up, but I tried again in 15 minutes just to be sure and surprisingly she picks up. She sounds real sweet on the phone by the way. She asks me to call her back in an hour because she is busy now. I say “o.k., maybe I’ll try back then.” I start getting psyched to see her and go and have a shower and get dressed and ready and everything. I call back in an hour and she doesn’t pick up! Fuck!! I wait 15 minutes and call again. Still nothing. I consider calling some other gals but decide to just go for a cruise instead.
There were a few gals out tonight on the various tracks, but nothing that really caught my attention. I cruise around for quite awhile, even went up to the Joyce and Kingsway track, the Seymour high-track (which was surprisingly busy tonight, and there was some kind of police incident down there too)… the low, the mid, Clark, Lower Kingsway, etc. There was one girl at 41st and Fraser that was trying to get my attention while she was walking North on Fraser. I looped around to get a better look at her. I thought she might be EI, in which case I would have gone for it, but on a closer pass-by she was Native and not that great, so I passed on her.
I decided to cruise around a bit more, but nothing. I didn’t have dinner tonight so I decided to grab a burger at the BK (Terminal and Main) drive-thru. As I’m coming through the drive-through there is this Chinese girl walking around in the drive-thru lane looking confused and possibly trying to get a glance from drivers. Spidey senses kick (*schwing!*
) and I decide to keep my wits about me.
I get what I wanted from BK and park in a way so I can see what is happening in the drive-thru lane. I see that she ends up doing a walk-thru order and gets some food. Then she is walking around the parking lot eating fries and still looking confused and out of place.
Sure enough she walks up to me where I’m parked. I have the window rolled down and I say “hi”. She says “hi” back. Then she asks if she can sit in my car and finishing eating. I knew something like this was coming, so I say “sure” (my mind is “grinning”
, by my face is playing it straight
).
She sits in the car. Damn she’s cute. She’s Chinese, about 5’2”, 100 lbs., maybe less. Mid-20s. Cute face. She’s wearing a pink hat and a long coat, tight jeans – carrying a handbag. She’s a bit of a raver type (if such a thing still exits. She has an eyebrow bar-bell stud and some other piercing). She has a Chinese accent. She tells me that she is coming from a party at a friend's place near Chinatown. She asks what my name is. For some weird reason I gave her my real first name instead of my pooning name. She tells me her name is Joey.
We talk for a bit. I ask what she does and she says, "I work in my Auntie's hair salon." She asks if I have to work tomorrow, I say “no. It’s the holiday.” She asks where I live, so I say downtown. She says she needs a ride home. I ask her where that is. She says Burnaby. Where in Burnaby? By Lougheed Mall.
I just tell her, “Humm… I don’t know. I don’t really want to go all the way out there.” There’s some more silence and eating of BK. I finish up and throw my paper bag and garbage in the trash. I ask if she smokes. She says “yah.” I light up a cigarette and ask if she wants one. She takes one and I light it for her. I’m just trying to not push anything at this point. She tells me she is going to go and try and find another car to drive her home. I say as subtlety as possible, “Is there anything you can give me to take you out there?” She says, “I don’t have money.” I don’t push it any further.
She ends up getting out of the car. Fucking guys in this city (including myself!
) are just like hawks circling in these situations. Two other guys in cars are watching what is going on at opposite ends of the parking lot. She goes over to the one car. Talks to the driver for a bit then walks away and he drives off. Then she wanders around a bit more and talks to a dude in a red van. She doesn’t get in, and as soon as she walks away he takes off too.
I decide that I’m still probably in the game on this one. She comes back to my car and gets in. She says if I drive her there she will ring the bell and her mom will give me $10 for gas. I say, “I don’t need the money. I’m just wondering if there is anything else you could do for me.” She says “no.” Looking a bit embarrassed. A bit more time passes and I ask her one last time, “Are you sure you don’t want to do this another way?” She says, “I know what you mean, but I can’t… I go to church.”
Then she asks if I have a cell phone. I say “yah”. She uses my phone to call her dad. She talks to him in Chinese for like 30 seconds. Then she asks if I can drive her to Main and Hastings, her dad is going to come and pick her up. I say “sure.” I make some small talk, drop her off. Tell her to take care and she says the same to me.
So anyway… WAS I CLOSE HERE OR WHAT!!! Fuck!!!! I thought I had it… but it slipped away with that call to her dad. Goddamnit I was horny after that! This would have been the best street score ever. This chick was just
way too hot to be out there walking around at 2:30 in the morning asking guys for rides! Damnit! How did this slip through my fingers??
I took one last cruise around the low and Clark to see if I could “scratch that itch.” Nothing worth going for out there. Decide to just head home. I’ve got this Chinese girl I see once in awhile. She always gives it up if we spend the evening together. I’m calling her tomorrow for sure… but I think I’ll be thinking abut Joey later tomorrow evening
Any suggestions on what could have closed the deal? Should I have offered her $40 and the ride or something like that? I had $300 in 20s on me… Goddamnit! I couldn’t even buy a decent fuck tonight!!
