Studies show that 1 of 11 drivers cannot score more
than 70% on the GMAC drivers test.

Agreed - but you'd be surprised at how many folks don't do as well. :)

Unfortunately I'm not surprised. Given how daft some people are what I am surprised about is that we don't have more carnage on the streets.

this written stuff don't mean much, although some of the Qs here are quite practical...

So Maxx , you must live by the "Right of Weight " rule too. Nothin better than 8,000 pounds of steel under your ass.

Yikes

Either I am the worst driver on here or the other Perb members are chicken to post.
I got 75%

Was with friends just last week talking about how we would do writing and re-doing our drivers test. I think I'll go out and by a manual to refresh my understanding.

I drive a lot for my job so this is important in my mind.

95%. I got the question about waiting for cars before left turn wrong. I chose dangerously close cars. Waiting until every car you can see has passed before making a left turn is insane. You'd have drivers honking and never get anywhere on time in this city.

I'm probably in my house.
I received 90%. I did not know highways were most slippery when rain had fallen after a dry spell (in Manitoba it's most slippery in the -1 to +1 temp. range) and apparently I'm apt to run down pedestrians. My ode to Darwin perhaps.

The reason for slippery when it starts to rain after a dry spell is because of all the pollutants on the asphalt from the cars exhaust, oil drippings and rubber from the tires.

And you are right in winter the -1 +1 range is a very slippery time. You would also know that at -20 snow covered roads have pretty darn good traction.

I grew up in northern Alta. and in the winter, nothing is prettier then driving at night with -20C temps or lower, with the frost on the trees and the northern lights dancing in the sky....

75%, but question 7 is illogical. Traffic in any good-sized city would never move if someone turning left waited for EVERY vehicle to pass before turning. It's also pretty obvious pedestrians in Vancouver believe they have the right to cross anywhere, any time. Who needs to wait for corners or lights?

90%, I got number 7 wrong too, who in the hell waits for every vehicle to pass before making a left hand turn, I wait for a big enough gap that I can get through without getting smucked by the oncoming traffic. I also got number 4 wrong, I knew it was either a or b I figured they'd want you changing lanes carefully.
