I sent a email to a co worker saying she is a backstabber. She printed it and showed it to my bosses. My bosses called me in and I didnt get fired, suspended or anything, just a simple chat. The reason I called her a backstabber was in a team meeting she called out a worker who was out for the day and didnt have a chance to defend herself.

I am working with a little baby who thinks backstabber warrants reporting me to the boss. How do I deal with this Mother Flipper every day? Goddamm, I wish this old hag would retire. I'm a Scorpio and we hold grudges.

Just a lonely old lady with time much time on her hands.

i guess im having a problem with some one at work as well,

but i think, putting anything out side regular work in writing is a no no,
it becomes a record, it becomes visible proof that your an idiot

and seriously, i don't know
but i just do my job, walk away, don't get involved in any verbal jousting or abuse or argueing.

take the high ground and walk away.
im lucky in that i have been doing my job for thirty years, i have nothing to show to any one or prove to anyone. i can walk away right away and retire, and my work record is pretty much spotless.
so i guess the first thing i have to say is you get paid to do a job, do it, and do it well,

and hopefully everyone will see that, especially the powers that be,

and the second thing, take the high ground, dont' get involved in petty arguements and verbal spats, just walk away.

and i guess im lucky in that im well liked, so when i walk away, i don't walk away alone,
so i guess next advice is be a good co worker, to everyone, listen be a good person to have a conversation with, help a guy out if he needs it, and do your job so no one has to help you out. but be free and ready to help any one out,
and don't be negative, i mean don't run people down, don't gossip, just be friendly have a good laugh, even at your expense let people poke at you and have a laugh, people need to laugh, it doesn't hurt to play the fool once inawhile and give people a laugh. be humble.

and i guess,
im bad, because, this person im fighting with.
i screwed him, or screw them every chance i get, just not a big deal but, if i get the chance to mess this guy up, i do,

and i just say oh so sorry, and carry on.
an i screw them the next time if i get the chance,
sometimes they get the point, and they just leave me alone,
or they just realize hey im not going anywhere and this guy is going to mess me up when every he gets the chance
and well so i better just leave him alone.

and i guess the next part of that is you had better be good at what you do, so this guy can't turn it around and fuck with you as well.

Just quietly go about your biz and watch your back. As far as the backstabber, I take it you are on the same level and she does not report to you or vice verse. Pick your spots but make sure what ever you have or find about her you can back it up.

Threads like this make me realize I was really meant to work from home as an independent business person. Years ago I was in the toxic environment you are working in now. People where I worked would climb over their mother's faces to get to the top and could care less if they stole your ideas or even your work.

on yer ignore list
so who died and made you the champion of all downtrodden workers?

this kind of falls in the category of 'somebody else's business' doesn't it?

watch yourself, the old bag could know a lot more than you think about the bosses' dirty dealings and might not be fireable for that reason

A fellow Scorpio eh! Yeah we need to learn not to hold grudges :p Anyway, although it's good of you to stick up for others, maybe a better way to have approached the situation is just pulled the "backstabber" aside and spoken to her privately. Just politely and casually brought it up that maybe what she said about the other woman behind her back wasn't very nice. If you do it as nicely as possible, she can't get mad, and if she does, there's no hard proof you even spoke to her! Good luck :)

Dont use email for that. If you have a real shitty boss you might even get in trouble for improper internet use or something like that.

Next time, I'd bring in up right in the meeting. Say right then and there, you think its wrong to talk bad about an absent coworker, right in front of everyone.

I dealt with this asshole who owed me some money. Made up escort ads on erslist, job ads, cellphone ads etc so his phone is ringing off the hook. If you know where he lives his phone ....u can do alot to get this person back. Dont do it right away and just give it 6 months.

Workplace BS

There's too much here to really comment on without spending hours. Office politics can be dicey and dangerous.

Probably the best way to have handled the original situation would have been to vocalize in the meeting support and appreciation for the absent person being maligned. That kind of open declaration to the contrary puts the accuser on the defensive, and makes the point that they're being abusive and deceitful in their approach without having to actually say so in so many words.

As for the advice to the effect that if you don't like, quit, you're vastly overpaid as it is, ... that's the typical BC attitude, a hangover from a former time. It's not the attitude you'd find anywhere else, such as in Alberta or Washington State, where employers like the oil industry or Boeing realize that skilled and professional people are an asset to the company.

Bang on! I have no idea what the heck you expected to accomplish by sending an email. Do you really think the person you were "calling out" would get your point? (It makes about as much sense as someone putting "if you're crazy please don't contact me" in their personal ad. How many do you think read that and go "oh damn, I'm crazy so I can't contact them".) Email isn't a good medium for anything and creates a permanent record as someone else pointed out.

I'm a scorp too and I have a similar situation, but not as bad. I have a co-worker who is just plain ass lazy. I don't feel any anger towards her, but I am definitely not a fan and have nothing to say to her. She basically complained to management about me for dumping some work towards her under a tight time frame. I did it all the time before and the other ppl in her position before never said anything and handled it no problem. I don't think it was too bad, maybe 5 mins of work? I didn't say much and just left it @ that. Then, one day I was put on the spot and I had no choice, but to put her in a tight time schedule again. I was pretty happy and when I sent the work to her, I was thinking: "eat me bitch". :D

Just like hockey. When someone throws a cheap shot @ u, it's probably best not to do anything that may bring u a penalty. Just wait for the right time, like a tiger hiding in the background stalking it's prey. Everyone is human and will make mistakes, just gotta watch for the opening. When u see him skating with his head down in a vulnerable position, WHAM! U deliver your bone crushing hit. :clap2:

I wouldn't do anything that would harm her too seriously, but something to frustrate her/embarass her a bit all in good fun. Revenge is so sweet.

I dont use any register phone numbers or addresses. Nowadays there are pay as you go cellphone companies like chatr, wind, mobilicity. My address is at canada place ....the trade n convention centre. Been pestering the faggot for a year now and he can do nothing. Long as you make it seem like a accident with trying to sell a cellphone, job ad etc. If youre not making threats nobody will take anything they say seriously.

If he takes the time to track you down you will be in a whole world of trouble.
