How to book discretely?

I’m mostly concerned about wether these apps leave any sort of record on my phone.

Say I use WhatsApp and then delete the chat.
Is there a record of it anywhere?

I don’t really care if sp’s know my number.
Just don’t want the ex grabbing my phone while I’m visiting my kids, going through it and finding conversations between myself and sp’s.

It happened once already a few months ago. Left my phone out unlocked while hanging out with my kids and she saw a text I hadn’t deleted from an sp. Shit really hit the fan big time. Mostly due to covid etc she freaked out! Threatened to hire a PI and/or demand all my phone records etc.
I know the mobile companies keep track of calls and texts but wondering if WhatsApp calls and messages are kept on a record somewhere and can be recovered once deleted.
Sure enough when I went to the Telus website there’s a record of every call and text message. The ex threatened to get those records to see how naughty I’ve been!

The burner phone is looking to be the best option! Unless like I’ve said these apps aren’t tracked once the messages get deleted.

The paranoia lies with you, not with the capability of the apps. None of these suggestions will help you if you can't get over your own paranoia. The unbiased and very obvious solution is burner phone and don't take it with you to see her.

Then there's the question of the points that your ex-wife makes...

If one wants to be super secure - you could use a burner phone (eg purchased from 7-11) and not linked to your name and then use a disposable phone app on it .
