people are stupid, look at all the info available nowadays, yet people are probably dumber than they were 100 yrs ago, certainly just as dumb as 30, before the internet took off

President Trump is widely disliked in Canada which makes it easy for us to forget that he has a large and loyal base of supporters in the US.

He is absolutely a contender to be reelected.

If you can't stand Trump I offer you this as consolation: I've noticed that criticisms of him are usually about what he says and rarely about what he does.

his base is the registered Republicans, if his base was as great as he thinks, the House would still be in their hands, they wouldn't have lost the Governor's races they just did, they wouldn't have lost most state houses

I can’t stand the guy and I don’t attribute his wealth to business prowess as he inherited most of it, but he is a brilliant politician. Not a good one, in my opinion, but the man’s rise to power, his resilience in the face of every scandal and instance of adversity, and how he has besieged the Republican Party are quite remarkable to say the least. His politicizing the Home Alone 2 incident and serving it up as a slice of any slight against me is against god, Christmas, the USA(especially my base)red meat isn’t stupid as it emboldens his supporters. He probably knew full and well that the edit wasn’t personal or political, but he never wastes an opportunity fire back.
I hope and believe that he will lose next year, but I suspect that the American left wing media can’t help but sell the story that he will be re-elected to keep their consumers tuned in and terrified.

He and his staff are great at marketing. That's about it. Well also fear and retribution.
His followers want to respect him and will do anything to keep in his good standings. ie Super Yes Men. ( not many women Republicans in seats).You cross him or disagree with him, you're gone. Government salary is cut-off, and possibly your pension, so you will support him no matter what. Take a look at Mitch M and Lindsey G are the worse. Look at what they both said about 45 prior to him running and what they are saying now. One cannot respect these fools who won't even listen to the facts of impeachment before they state their vote. Do that in a normal court and they would be dismissed from the Jury.

I had a buddy who consulted 45 on his NJ casino. Even back my buddy was saying 45 was a buffoon who knew nothing about real business.
