I'm not sure there is a typical SP, but I was wondering if anyone knows what the average is for how long an adult SP, who enters the business without drug issues, stays in the business?

For SP's, do have you set a time frame or have a plan for how long you intend to play in the game?

Angel who advertises on this board is the exception to the rule IMO. She's been around at least 17 years. I saw her in 2000 for $120.

Most women don't last more than a few months.

A long time ago, I read on PERB the average SP career was 5 months. No proof. Could be a reasonable guess.
Lots of girls try it out and quit after 1 month or less.

1-2 years are quite common. Then I feel 3 years is a barrier that not many cross. Maybe it's getting old, maybe they feel lonely (the job limits relationships outside), maybe they had an exit plan with a fixed date.

Very few have a staying power to last many years.

I'm not talking about survival workers here, only the girls that have a reasonable choice to work or not.

Yes there's a difference in the turnover rate for high volume versus low volume providers I believe. Maybe low volume providers can stay in longer since they are choosy with their clients? Low volume providers might burn out in a years? Depends on their different long-term and short-term goals too.

Most of the higher end ladies (and all the ladies I associate with) have been in the industry at least a decade. It takes about that long to really hone your craft and to become an exceptional courtesan.

Many of these ladies have changed their name or location, or gone under the radar for periods of time. However, the same adage applies to this industry as all others. "It takes 10,000 hours of hard work to look like a overnight success."

I have heard of very few ladies who have been in this industry for 3 or 4 years. It's either a couple of weeks or months, and they realize it isn't right for them, or it becomes a career, with breaks to have children, or start up other businesses.

If you love being a courtesan, it's not about the money or lack of alternate employment. It's about the art of sensuality, healing, and deep, genuine connection. It's either in your blood, or it isn't.

Of course it's not about the money!

Churchill: "Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?" Socialite: "My goodness, Mr. Churchill... Well, I suppose... we would have to discuss terms, of course... "
Churchill: "Would you sleep with me for five pounds?"
Socialite: "Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?!" Churchill: "Madam, we've already established that. Now we are haggling about the price

Erica the Fox

I remember Erica advertising in Toronto Life (when they accepted escort ads) in the 1970's. Last I checked - a few months ago - her website was still up, but I think she has fudged her age as bit. She was a super active individual who often booked ski weekends and apparently outlasted her clients. I was a terb member, and she had a great reputation on terb. Sorry, I never met her - regrets.

As far as I'm concerned I've been in and out of the industry over the last few years as my corporate career and personal life were taking me to different countries and situations... It's a fun activity to have on the side, so as my personal circumstances evolve I might keep hopping in and out...

It's either in your blood, or it isn't.
The ones who are all about the money are usually lousy at it and it shows. If you aren't into it there is no way it can be faked.

Some women have a talent, it's nothing to do with looks, but it's almost like an electric current you can feel flowing between you.

Not everyone is suited for this business & that is reflected in the test of time.......everyone is also here for many different reasons. Agree with the ladies views. Ive been more off then on over the years. My game plan: I am single, not interested in dating or a full time boyfriend. I miss sex 1-3 times a day though.......so here I am. NSA. Being involved has given me the opportunity to meet some of the most amazing people in the world!!!! Time frame: as long as its still fun

My guess is probably 2-5 years. That's basically what they say when I asked them about their retirement plans

Been seeing an SP going on 17 years. She was FT up until about 3 - 4 years ago, now less than PT. I get the feeling she's close to packing it in. I have to agree with girth-brooks comment though, it does seem the good ones leave too soon (with some exceptions).

Seems to be about 6-12 months for those who don't vanish in a month.
