Inspired by a thread from a merb user saying a SP texted him 3 weeks after he initially contacted her.

How late is too late to reply to an inquiry? For privacy, concerns I understand that anytime I reply to someone, there’s a chance that someone else might see the notification.

Realistically, I cannot always answer right away as I have a life and I’m not on my phone 24/7.

I’d generally say 1-2 hours. As clients we understand most sessions are from 30-90 minutes to 2 hours. I’d figure a reply between clients would work. If I’m in a tight situation with replies I generally will say so in the message to not text back after 2 hours.
Have one provider who will message a random emoji after a period of time when she is away, and back in for business. I don’t save the # so it would look like a wrong #

Anytime is a good time for me, but as previously mentioned everyone has a different situation.

However, in general most people I would suggest, expect a response within 24 hours,

For me anytime, understand others have limits. I try to include in my correspondence that anytime is okay

Just like any business, common sense should apply.

Would anyone consider it proper for a shoe store, mechanic or doctor to reply to an enquiry 3 weeks later? I would think, realistically, one day later would be the maximum anyone would be expected to wait to receive a reply from any provider of a service, or product. I've had businesses get back to me up to four days later, and they are toast as far as I'm concerned. Anyone who wants business should be able to reply in a timely manner, or expect the prospective client to have moved on.

Any new contact I text and do not have a reply in (whatever time at that particular time, I feel is appropriate), I follow up with a 'please do not text back if your reply is after xx:xx am/pm - best that we can try again later.
Not that I am any specific relationship but why risk any exposure.

Most legit businesses that have no social stigma , by the end of that business day ( 6:00 ) .
For a provider , for myself 2 hrs . Sometimes 3 but to be on the safe side 2 .

On a side note I hate txting providers I’ve never met , but once I know them , don’t mind it at all.
