How does this hobby affect your self-esteem?

As an OldMan, I ran out of steem long ago. The worst thing about this hobby, for me, is putting price tags on ever woeman I see.
It affects mine in both negative and positive ways.
Positive when I have an interaction where if feels like the woman finds me genuinely attractive. I've been able to have interactions with a few of SPs away from work but have only been on one date with them. A good session is definitely a great pick up for your mood if you are down, but not necessarily self esteem.
The negative is when I think about some other friends who have never had to see an SP for sex. In some ways they are missing out, but in other ways they are just fortunate to be able to find sex the regular way.

Forbidden sex is the best sex. For me paying for sex means at best its only going to be just okay, does nothing for my self esteem. What I remember more than the sex is the conversations. Sometimes you meet interesting people you wouldn't normally meet in regular life.
Absolutely agree about the good conversations. Sure I primarily go for the sex, but the talking after the deed is done can be great. Actually gone to Starbucks after with one SP and we continued with our discussion for almost two more hours over java and muffins.
Don't believe it helps or hinders my self esteem. I already feel pretty good about myself, but like ladies, without the strings that come with a relationship.
Could not agree more with what you say about paying for sex.
I remember a thread about the pros and cons of seeing escorts and one of the pros was their skill sexually. I adamantly disagree with that.
Escorts are pros so they will be better at faking orgasms or engaging in dirty talk but nothing beats the genuine interactions and reactions with non pros. Especially the late 30's early 40s sex starved milf type whose husband may describe them as disinterested in sex.
I got some stories for sure that are seared into my memory. Encounters with SPs can be good but are generally forgettable for me.
I totally agree about the interactions with non-pros. That's where the real bump in confidence comes from and that high last so much longer. I much prefer meeting the non-pros but I do visit the SPs if I'm in a dating slump or in need of that sexual healing.
Ah, Dickson.... Those of us who have been on this board for a while remember him well. He was a raconteur of the highest order. As I understand it, he was banned, but I do not know why. His stories were better than anything in Penthouse letters. Sadly, it was apparent that he never managed to find the connection he sought, though he sure seemed to have fun looking.

... well, odd -- but I find myself sprucing up more for a rendezvous with you-know-who than a real date. It's because the mileage varies based on hygiene, manners, etc. and with a date I'm not expecting to drop my clothes. Maybe on the second one. As for my self esteem, with a good session I'm so whacked by hormones they have to put my glasses back on my head and point me towards the door.
