Woke up about half an hour ago from some sort of nightmare and really can't remember it, but the emotion and unsettled feelings are keeping me awake....only slept a few hours, and here I am wide awake.

Strangest experience...was dead asleep, dreaming about something pleasant...that part I remember, then suddenly it all went wrong and I do remember waking up and having a really horrible feeling that someone was there in my room, so close as it was tangible for who knows how long before I actually was brave enough to peek out from under my eyelids...and the sheets. It really felt as if there was someone or thing actually standing there, by my bed, standing and exuding a feeling of presence.....fucking scary as hell. Got the lights on at the moment, feeling for the first time in a long time those 'afraid of the dark' sensations that I haven't felt since I was a child.

Has anyone else had the same sort of middle of the night experience? And, no...didn't go to bed drunk, stoned nor did I eat anything before bed. Just water....nothing out of the ordinary, no scary movie...just Dan Russell's Sport Talk on the radio as I drifted off. I hope I can go back to bed...but I doubt I can.

What you experienced is called 'night terrors' It's a well known syndrome and although I haven't had it myself I believe it's part of folklore. People often report seeing an old hag, sometimes with a knife standing by the bed and very often the people dreaming are unable to move or scream... almost like those awful stories of people who are under anaesthesia and in surgery but who are aware of everything and able to feel everything but unable to move.

Maybe if you remember what you were dreaming about it will give you clues as to what you're trying to keep out of your conscious mind. I believe we dream for a reason.

Anyway, you're not alone!

Simple.

Refocus your energy's.
Get back to the core of life.
Cant remember the name of the martial art that teaches breathing
exercises, but in through the nose out through the mouth.
With a count of five between breaths. This will slow the adrenalin
response right down.

It works grasshopper. Go find the balance daniel san. LOL
