The conversation enders tend to come once I’ve discovered her more precise location (Surrey/Langley/Delta is a HUGE area... and most ads don’t narrow it down or they mislead for security). I’m just honest with her that the locale won’t work for me today, but I’ll keep her info for the future. When I contact an SP I’m typically genuinely interested in booking. For the SPs out there, PLEASE say something about the neighbourhood you’re in within your ad. I’ll waste less of your time.
I’ve never cancelled on someone once we’ve made an agreement. It would have to be for the same kind of reasons that make me miss a Dr. appointment. I’d inform her why I couldn’t make it and hopefully we can reschedule and I can make it up to her with a tip the next time. Time is a valuable commodity. I hate when people waste my time, so I do my best not to waste others too.

Yup. I'm the same way. Location can be a deal breaker. If an SP is located somewhere that I don't feel like commuting to I usually won't see her. Like I won't go to Newton for example.
It seems kind of fruitless to book then not follow through, but I've been in a position most of my working life where things do come up. Nature of my job was on call, usually for phone call help or email help, which often involved contacting co-workers for information, and waiting for long distance calls from many other parts of north america. So it was valid in my case, but was the exception rather than the rule.
How about ending it with. "Sorry I have just come down with a case of the diarrhea, I don't think it would be good for a visit right now unless you have extra toilet paper on hand"
