Just wondered what the trend is for everyone? Color schemes, like one color of lights, tinsel, homemade ornaments etc.

And how do you get ready to do your tree, family, favorite bevvy, everyone contributes, just do it yourself.

This year is my first Christmas unmarried, and I must say, also the first Christmas there was no fighting or arguements over how the tree was decorated.

Merry Christmas to all!!!!!:)

Mix of family-made ornaments and store bought. Strings of tinsel in gold and red usually. Multi-coloured lights wrapped around the tree. Angel on top. Ornaments don't match at all, and the end result is very colourful, happy, bright and the same as it's been since I was a child :)

I put up two trees. One has all the ornaments from when I was a kid...I love this tree, I feel 'five' yrs old when I sit and stare into the ornaments the family cat didn't manage to smash when she pulled it down.

The other tree is for the kids to decorate. My daughter does a 'blue' thing...I like red better, blue is kinda cold, but she does a great job.

I don't think its fair for a tree to give up its life for one day, most people just throw the poor guy out when Christmas is over. Meanwhile we have clearcut forests all over the place, eroding mountains, extinct animals, destroyed wildlife habitats. Trees take carbon dioxide and turn it into oxygen. On a positive note people are more aware than they were 20 years ago about what we are doing to the planet.

Christmas is the worst time of year for waste, wrapping paper, tape, things people don't want, trees. lol, ok I'll stop now.

I really like Christmas dinners and getting together with family and friends. Free range turkey is the best tasting turkey ever, mmmmmmmm

Merry Christmas everybody!

I don't celebrate Christmas, so I don't get a Christmas tree. Instead, I have a nice aluminum Festivus pole. Aluminum gives you a very good strength-to-weight ratio. Of course, the pole isn't the best part about Festivus - my favorite part of the holiday is the Airing of Grievances. :D

I was going to do a modern xmas tree orginally, some twigs spray painted white with silver tinsel, white lights, pink or red ornaments. But I picked up a small tree this past weekend it's under 2 feet tall , will probably use the same decoration motif since it's most of the colors of my apartment ^_^

AWWWW!! to the above pic!

I have a friend who doesn't let her kids participate in the house or tree decorating...she is a nut about Xmas and her attic is chock full of decorations, but, everything has to be just right, and every item has it's exact place....

Sort of takes the fun out of it!
