Compare Merb, Terb and Perb, there seem to be more open review on Perb than back east. Perb was the only board mentioning shit like bbbj, greek etc when the 2014 Cluster-fuck bill came out. The reality you don't know what you are getting unless its from a well established provider. The craiglist, backpage shutdown really affected how SP advertised. Leolist came to the forefront, now its Tryst. Not sure about board, websites back east so much now, but it can be assured they are on the down-low, running below the radar.
Take into account over the years about Torrents and blackmarket downloading of videos and other copy-right stuff (e-books). Last month Lib Z was shutdown worldwide by the FBI (the world is not in their juristiction but they did anyway). Run by someone of Russian nationallity. So really no more free E-books. Corporate America pushing its monopolies. Or targeting Russian individuals who might be funding the Russian state.
Slowly it seems that the US is closing/shutting down anything that competes for its monopolies. As Muslim countries and Laws don't support patents, there are no widespread monopolies in Muslim countries. The gulf war, war on weapons of mass destruction, invasion of Afghanistan (war on terrorism). In the meantime America has lost Africa to China and muslim controll of all northern African states. Hence forward labelled "failed states".
America for the last 40 years have been targeting countries that ignore their copyrights, and hence the gathering of wealth to the US companies. Spending Trillions of dollars for future controll of the world.
Opposed to this is Russia and China. Under the flag of freedom the US charges ahead with the "Freedom" issues, which everyone in the western world can agree to (the old Freedom vs Communism tags). But behind coming up behind the front line troops for Freedom are the Nazi squads of lawyers enforcing copyrights.
What the copyrights are doing is creating barriers to free trade. Creating cost imbalance for new drugs sold at high prices when generic ones would be cheaper; but patents prevent this from happening for at least 1 generation of people where cheaper drugs would help poorer people.
