...let themselves get like this??? I understand that some people have medical conditions, but this is just messed up. I'd rather be dead than be so large that I'm confined to a bed for 7 years. 1072 lbs. Unreal!!!

Its a video clip Randy. Consider yourself lucky to miss that train wreck. He is a no neck, shitty hands mess. Scotty raises a good point, short of a medical condition, how the hell does that happen? Even with a medical condition, you would think he would get help before his weight is in the 4 digit range.

Well, depression can do numbers to a person. Probably he by the time he realized that he had become too large it was too late for him to do anything about it. After that, the weight just piles on. I saw that episode and his wife didn't help him either, she would sneak him in Macdonalds, Doughnuts, etc totally againest doctor's orders. Seems like she wanted to keep him in that situation, made her feel needed. Both of them need serious help.

What I do find interesting about the subject of weight and beauty is how diferent cultures view it. One fellow I read about who was a king of the Zulu nation was so obese that he probably would rival the guy in the video. He had to be carried on a litter everywhere, women slaves to do his every bidding, never having to lift a finger for himself. In his society overindulgence was seen as a sign of opulance, wealth and power. Historically women haven't been viewed as they are in our culture, as figurines of the Aztec indicate, also the paintings of Michelangelo in the Sistene Chapel. Today the trim woman is viewed as beautiful, whereas BBW women used to be considered the epitomy of beauty. I've always been interested in how we determine on a large scale what is beauty and what is not.

I don't care when your living... 1072 lbs. Isn't or wasn't beauty or sexy. Imagine a 1072 lb. woman sitting on your face. "This woman is so beautiful" would be the last thing on your mind. More like "I hope the crew from C.S.I. can identify me after this."

lol I never said it was sexy, I find it repugnent to say the least. I was just commenting on what beauty is and how our judgments of weight changes. 1072 lbs does push the BBW mark.
