Hintz being out is a huge loss for Dallas. Oilers defence has really stepped up after game 5 against the Canucks. And you have Oettinger who can be a streaky goalie.

I can see the Oilers winning this series but if Hintz is back next game Im leaning towards the Stars.

If I have my stats right, no other NHL team has more Canadians on it than the Oilers, so despite every fan having their hearts with THEIR particular team, the Oilers really are Canada's team.

Watching as many of the playoff games as I can, it looks to me as if the Oilers have been learning how to play playoff hockey. Games 6-7 vs the Canucks definitely. Last night that first Dallas goal was a direct result of a fk up and really many of the goals in the other series were the same. You turn over in your end, you are going to pay for it. The missing element in the Oilers the past few seasons was defence and their current group are as solid as any in the league. No goals on their PK for what 17-18 penalties? That could be the difference in every series. People have been throwing around all kinds of insults about McDavid - pretty poor form people. Any team anywhere in the world would want the world's best player and whether he scores or assists, any time he is on the ice, things can happen, fast.

I am thinking this series could go 7 as what I saw last night was two pretty evenly matched teams. Entertaining end to end game or what!! The real issue will be if the Rangers-Panthers will beat themselves up or get some rest. Winning a Stanley Cup is as much the last man standing as it is the best team.

So ... Go Oilers!

Are you planning to support Canada's last hope for this years cup?

Lukewarm support, but yeah.
Would rather see it won by any Canadian team (even the insufferable Leafs) than an US one. But I must admit my enthusiasm for the NHL playoffs has dropped about 90%.

Oilers and th goalie needs to play at 9/10 game to win. Stars. 7/10 to win. If Oilers win the series a miracle

Panthers-Rangers 3rd straight o/t game.
Hoping for Panthers but I think Shesterkin will be the difference.
Also hoping for Edmonton but not looking good.

I watched the game last night. Second game in a row the Oilers allowed Dallas to shoot into an empty net. Can anyone explain this strategy?
The strategy of pulling your goalie is to get an extra forward on the ice. It backfired right away for Edmonton two games in a row. The Canucks scored two goals with their goalie pulled in game four against Nashville and then won in OT. Once in a while it works, but not very often.

I wrote I was hoping(not expecting)a Panthers-Oilers Finsl.
Both teams have a chance to advance at home in Game 6.
Can't help but wonder if Game 6 is a must for all 4 teams?
Obviously for Rangers and Stars but also for Panthers and Oilers...if they don't close it they have Game 7 on the road.

Corey Perry is back!! Oilers have a chance if playing the Rangers. But not Florida.

how do you get there?

Florida is barely beating the Rangers

4 out of 5 games are one goal games

neither team is unbeatable

no one was picking Edm over Dallas either

they said they had no chance

if they played a full 60 mins, same with Van, they should have won both in 4 games

they beat themselves in those loses both series

Since I am still reeling from how bad Winnipeg dropped the ball against Colorado, you can bet I'm not jumping on the Oilers bandwagon. No need to get my heart broken twice in the playoffs.

I have to agree with Leon Draisaitl's recent comments that the Oilers best beats anyone's best. It's if they can bring it with consistency.
Cheering for the home team to get to the cup this evening!

Not a fucking chance they make it past Dallas.
Can't play one line 30minutes a game.

Dallas has better goaltending and more depth.
Canucks kept McFuckface to one goal the entire series with a third-string, AHL goalie.

Oettinger is 10x the goalie Skinner is.
Stars in 5.
could be done in 8 hours and deboer is a very poor in game playoff coach

Yup. Oilers against Dallas look similar to Rangers against Panthers. Punching above their weight. Look at me expounding on hockey! What next? Heavy duty mechanics?
