I know this had previously been posted but nothing comes up in the search function.

Does anyone know of hotels that rent rooms by the hour?

Thanks in advance!

Don’t know of anything, there may be some small motels in that market but they would be pretty sketchy places. Day rate rooms are an option, the Humphrey on main is usually about $75.

Yes. The Humphrey Inn on Main is very good. I have used this Hotel on several occasions , for the day rate for meeting and planning sessions.
Very quite and clean.

Yeah, most bigger hotels have an 11am to 4pm rate. Check out Hotelsbyday or Dayuse.
Fewer properties offering these lately.

Do u guys know of any hotels tht do not need credit cards to rent?
Any place where you'd want to actually touch the bed will need a CC I'm afraid. I get the feeling you're in the same position as I am, and I've figured out a way to make it work. PM me if you want the details. i won't bore the rest of the board with the info.

Most chains brought in a "cooling off" between guests in a room. The advantage of day rates for hotels was you could rent the same room 2x in a day but new covid policies have ended this for most large hotel chains

It occurs to me that you could use a prepaid visa card to secure the room and pay cash upon checkout.
That way you are never touching the balance on the prepaid card.

Hotels wont accept the usual prepaid CC's (the MC and VISA ones from convenience stores etc...) for reservation or payment because they can't preauthorise or use it later for damages etc... Most hotels won't accept cash for payment now and won't take a reservation without a CC

So what will they accept? Personally I'd like to know. It seems like you've figured out a way to be discrete.

Canada Post Cash Passport prepaid Master Card will work, and you can stay relatively anonymous. There are fees to get it, re-load it and use it but it's the cost of discretion I guess, and in my position it is absolutely necessary.

When you buy it at a Canada post outlet they do need ID to register it but your name isn't on it. You can load it with cash, I started with $500 they didn't blink an eye. After that you can load it with cash any time.

It definitely works to book a hotel online, and any hotel I've used it at swipes it for the room charges with no problems. I've used it at several hotel brands from high end business places to motels.

Hotels do need ID now (every one I've used in the past year asks for it at check in, even ones where I'm a rewards member) so staying anonymous isn't possible, but at least you can keep things hidden on the home front.
