I am not saying BBBJ is the way to go, of course you should always have protection no matter what. However; its a fact that there are some people willing to provide or recieve BBBJ. Allow me to thrust forward and inject a note of realism here. While it's easy to say things like "acceptable risks" and "a real blow job is a bare blow job" the fact is IF you were suddenly faced with being HIV positive or even contracted a lifelong case of herpes the tune would change quickly and dramatically. I had a scare with a teen pregnancy and later (with someone else) genital warts. Thankfully neither turned out to be fact, but you can believe I was cursing my stupidity constantly during the assessment period and I prayed to God, my neighbour's wishing well and just about anyone else to spare me. A risk is only abstract when nothing happens. If things go wrong you quickly realize how UNacceptable a risk can be.

Just to clarify, HIV CAN be transmitted through saliva, as it can be with any bodily fluid. However, to have a "reasonable" chance of contracting it, you need to take SIX LITRES of it into your system (if I remeber my 9th grade bio class). I've noted before that the biggest risk is Hepatitis, particularly A, which is more easily transferred. So remember to stay up to date on your vaccinations (every ten years).
However, risk does increase with mileage, so no STD should be discounted.
