Did you watch the whole thing? IF it succeeds, it will take at least 5 years to get to market. That means another 5 years that you'll have to wear a condom, so don't bother celebrating yet.

It'd be great if they got it working. Still though, a ton of other nasty STIs out there so still gotta be really careful lol. Can't always use the "I caught it from a toilet seat" excuse haha.

That make no sense. I don't want to set off an unsafe sex spree but if you have unprotected sex with someone who is HIV positive you might not get HIV. There is a probability you might get it every time you have sex (and it is much smaller for vaginal sex compared to anal sex). Now add condoms and the fact that SPs get themselves regularly tested and the chances of getting HIV from safe sex with a SP are basically zero (you get numbers that you routinely discard in your everyday life every time you cross a street, drive a car or get on a bus ...).
