Bonsuk,...

Use condoms from now on, to protect the girls - and to protect US.

...Whatever the outcome is - the HIV infection is nowadays NOT a death sentance any more. You will have to take a cocktail of medicaments all your life, change your life style (alcohol, smoking) and you will only have protected sex, if you care about others. But the average life expectation for newly HIV-infected people is rising every year, and many infected people will live their normal life and die of a heart attack one day, as other non-infected people too.

Good luck to you.

How long ago was it that Magic Johnson announced that he had HIV? Quite a while, I believe. I'm guessing more than a decade. As long as there's no cure, yes, it's definitely a death sentence. But if you have the money to afford the array of drugs that seem to keep it at bay, it seems like you can live a relatively normal life for a pretty long time after contracting the virus itself. That said, having unprotected sex with anyone in this day and age is just plain nuts.

From my understanding HIV is not a death sentence, but the complications from it such as pnomiena (sp?)and menengitis are. The simple common cold if contracted when you have HIV can become a death sentence. I often wonder about Magic Johnson, when was the last time anyone saw him on TV looking well? I do beleive that the drug cocktails do prolong your life, but as CT stated, "being alive and living aren't always the same thing".
