History of the bikini? Or a moral majority lesson?

I tried to stay non-judgmental as I watched this video; however, I found it very insulting to the intelligence of men. I don't disagree that anyone, man or woman, looking at a hawt babe in a bikini would lose their train of thought, but, to say the brains of men become inflamed with angry, or violent, thoughts is over the top. I also found a strange irony in the presentation. The video doesn't make its point until you get to, roughly, the middle:

When they say those sorts of things, it reflects their own state of mind, not that of the general population. These angry, violent thoughts on seeing a bikini are only really present in the fundamentalist Christians, not among everyone else. But, because they are thinking these thoughts they assume that everyone else is as well, which simply is not the case.

Basically it means that they should be locked up as a preventative measure, not that bikini's should be supressed.

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD Tugs, a psychologist would call it "projecting"

What I found ironic was the dress the speaker chose to wear. I spent more time staring at her arms and legs, and, had trouble focusing on what she was saying...very beautiful arms, and shapely legs..

It's been scientifically proven that men's cortisol levels shoot through the roof when in the presence of attractive, provocatively dressed females. It's a physiological reaction we have no control over.

Personally, I don't want to be aroused if I'm not able to act out on that arousal. It's very stressful. I had to drop out of my liberal arts elective for this reason.

It's funny how women seem to assume the male sex drive is as tame as their own. It's like comparing a lit match to a burning torch.

My female friends hate that i say this because they think I am making an excuse for men, but I understand.

I was blaming it on testosterone but you have pointed out that scientific studies say it is cortisol levels.

Whatever it is men are horny. They cannot help it. Some can control it others cannot.

I mean I hate to compare sex to alcohol, but it is like being able to have a few beers and not drink the whole 6 pack./

When I first read that I thought you were making a joke but you are quite right. Beautiful, thick, long hair too.

GET OUT!!!! that whole video was about promoting her bathing suit line?

See? I didn't focus on what she was saying...she is a babe!

Thanks for the link. I bookmarked that page; it's hard to find a nice one piece.

It's been a long time since I thought I could wear a bikini. I wouldn't just be 'afraid to come out of the water', I would be afraid of offending people with all the loosey goosey saggy bits...wish other people would pause to consider that...sometimes the beach is like a Walmart picture fest...love the speedos, too ;)
