I was looking through some high end escorts based in Toronto and internationally. Seems all are asking for 2 references, a copy of government ID or your LinkedIN page!

Is this common? These girls charge $500 and up in Canada and $1000 in the US. If discretion is paramount I don't know if guys would be willing to disclose their true identity.

Don't disclose personal information to a Service Provider. Nothing good came come from it.

Agreed - Altough I understand their security procedures and am willing to comply with them, there are many other alternatives to direct personal information.
Agreed and it emphasizes the point of having references from Vancouver or any visiting SP's who are willing to assist.

I'd be embarrassed enough to admit I had a LinkedIn page.

Maybe we need a new service that can do double-blind identity verification. You give them government ID and it gets a unique anonymised ID, but it's not replaceable so there's no burner accounts.

We could call it KinkedIn.

If you really want to see her, then I guess you'll have to do as she says.

I am sure your information will be safe-guarded, encrypted and stored properly. :noidea:

As far as I know that's the norm in the states. You could also pay for some referral handles and other review websites but I have a feeling we can't discuss that here.

There's no centralized "data base" for either parties because; well most people wish to stay anonymous just like you as well :p

As some already stated, it is common in US as it is totally illegal to enjoy in this hobby.
Full picture of ID gets asked often.
I had given one of my office number in the different city a few times where they (SPs) called that number to get my personal voice mail (which said my name and company name) and that was good enough for them to verify me.

If you live in Canada and looking to play in Canada then I wouldn't give much info.

Some sites ask for work numbers and will call them to confirm you're there. I did it once in the US; didn't feel too nervous (since only I answered that line and I knew I was moving from that office in a few months) but I can understand others being leery. That site, when they called, were very discrete, professional, and friendly. It allowed me to be a "confirmed" member, or something like that, but some providers still needed 1,2 or even 3 references to meet (fortunately, some were also "newbie friendly").

I travel to NYC on tour a lot and this is actually the rule, and almost every man will give the information if the provider is well known and well reviewed, when I'm in a city like NYC (where there's so much more of a risk for my safety) I definitely go by that safety protocol. I never heard of it being used in Toronto though- I wouldn't think to do it in Canada but if that is what makes a girl feel safe then she's totally in the right to ask I think. It's not the safest of professions after all and almost all of us want to be just as discreet and anonymous as you do outside of the bedroom so I wouldn't worry about the risk if she'd high end and well reviewed. If you're not comfortable, maybe offer to give a deposit and just explain your worries. We're human, we totally understand :)

Sure being high end means they will never reveal your personal info. Just like Heidi Fleiss.

I agree a SP can ask for any personal info they would like to feel safe. As a client it's my right to never give it out. Too much to risk, I'll just find other SP's that are more discreet.

Succinct and exactly to the point.
We all make choices.
Whether it be personal info, SP restrictions, DNR policy or what have you.
Don't agree with it? Then just move on.

These all being said

I've had ladies asked to speak with me on a phone and to confirm details first (and to make sure I don't "sound" like a creep I guess?) when I first did it I was super nervous. Now it's just part of the process if you wish to see someone.

Not white knighting or anything, but I do believe travelling ladies probably get a lot more WOT/WOM than us fellas. I find a good, fairly well written email introduction works well (except one "high end courtesan", she said she'd never see me.. LOL)

Actually speaking to a lady is key. So many dudes just want to text and email without actual personal interaction.
Not that a conversation will necessarily seal the deal, but it certainly helps.
