Sorry maybe I’m still kind of new around here, and might not even be posting an allowed question.
i noticed a few perb ads mentioning going on hiatus. Is this a normal thing? How long does it last?

It all depends on the individual.
We all neeed down time, it usually requires as much time:::: as we may think we need and require.

Some do take vacation time as I am sure you do. There are also some that are fitting a SP Carter into a university schedule and April is exam time.

Yes, I can understand vacation time. Thanks for the clarification. I just thought maybe primal animal instincts would make males hornier in the spring. 😂
SPs do earn their time off and hope they enjoy it. I mean, which one I visit has to put up with me for the time I pay for. 😝

Hiatus can mean taking a long vacation/trip, can be needing a mental health break from dealing with us rutting bulls, or can even be for treatment of a medical condition, anything from an enhancement operation, carpal tunnel correction, or even a reproductive situation including a blessed event.

Regardless, it is a cessation of services, and until the SP advertises "I'm Baccckkk!" it would be poor form to contact them asking them to see you in spite of being on hiatus (unless they have expressly informed you that the hiatus does not apply to you).

Ok, I have to be honest. I thought the SP would just stop advertising if going on a break and advertise when ready to work, but I guess my thinking is a little weird.

I think it's also used as a way to drum up some business. Basically a " come and see me now before I'm on break, last chance" scenario,
There were a few that always had the "Going out of business" sign up, they would also use old pictures and be 26 for 10 years. Sure, it is a way of drumming up business, but informing clients you are already on hiatus, not so much.

Agreed. Already on hiatus should be read as " Don't even bother contacting me, I'm not available"
